or
In possession of booze and are under 21
Apparently the fake ID is a felony, much worse.

If it's a first offense and no one gets hurt most schools put the player through the disciplinary process and let him remain on the team.

How is it an over reaction to cut him from the team when he could have easily killed someone? Not only was he drunk, but he was driving 93 MPH. He may not be a bad kid, but he sure is a dumb***. Stupid is contagious and the coaches may decide they don't want a case of it going around.

If he can play, keep him....I want more TROPHIES!

Unless he goes FSU QB on a girl or Lawrence Phillips, I say give him a 2nd chance

I'm not arguing that he should be kicked off the team, but I would understand if he was.

What reason would the Wisconsin Chancellor deny him admission? If he was denied admission due to grades, then Rod should get on the phone.

My bet it was more than grades but we will never know.

The only thing that was really bad was the 93mph. Fake IDs are almost normal. It's real easy to get to .095. That would have been legal until the late 80s. BTW Has Uber made it to DeKalb?

Wow, the greater than thou attitude runs rampant everywhere these days...even on this board. The kid drank a few beers then went out into the country and drove his car 90 mph and got caught. That was really dumb but he got lucky and didn't hurt anyone.

Some of you must be squeaky clean and crap with your legs crossed. As far as the fake ID.. Not that uncommon for college kids.

He shouldn't be kicked off...suspended ..of course.

Well, I am squeaky clean (mostly), but there is no way I crap with my legs crossed. I haven't been able to cross my legs in over 30 years. Plus, it would be quite uncomfortable crapping that way, and I'd probably end up soiling myself. So, therefore, I say that he should not be kicked off the team. However, I think he should drop his drawers and submit to a serious spanking until he squeals like a pig.

So does this mean if he was "unlucky" and someone "did get hurt," then he'd deserve to be kicked off?
Do you believe the athletic administration and coaches have a chart that assigns a degree to a violation of team rules?

NIU athletes have been charged with drinking and drug offenses in the past and not been kicked of their teams. Years ago, Dan Sheldon was busted for selling fake ID's and may be on the greatest Huskie list. I think he gets suspended indefinitely.

As someone who recently lost a close friend to a drunk driving accident, I'm glad some of you think I'm being holier than thou.

Kids make mistakes. He needs to take his punishment from the Court and NIU and learn from this.

I have not seen anywhere that anybody has said it was ok to drink and drive! He should be punished severely by the law and the team. He may or may not be kicked off the team, I think most people are fine with either conclusion.
