Southern's basketball program is about to get curb stomped by the NCAA infractions committee.

We did not get hit with a lack of institutional control. We will get penalized but not excessively.

No, you forget, SOMEONE has to pay for UNC's transgressions.....03-lmfao

And that someone is named Donnie.

I can see this being the end game. Four playoff spots, four power conferences of around 80 teams or so.

Good news is: that 10-ish group of G5 teams is going to come from AAC and MWC.

If we get some of these schools from the B12, can we kick some out of our conference?

yup...let's start with all AAC schools who start with the letters "Tul".

Absolutely, problem is no conference cares about Bball. Your FBall is hardly a much better product BTW. especially in terms of conference re-alignment, and no I am not saying Tulane doesn't stink.

Not a better product? Last year would suggest otherwise. Guess we'll see how good of a product each team is this year as well. And for what it's worth I wasn't even trying to take a shot at Tulane, just suggesting that Temple belongs in the AAC. I root for Tulane and wish every team in the conference well.

RE: BXII's Official Expansion Committee
The worst thing about all of this is that we know this conference is temporary. The B12 will either expand or implode but nothing is happening. It's inevitable that the status quo can't be maintained.

Better, I'd say so (not much better) but we were super young and super injured when we played that straight up putrid game against Temple.

I absolutely think Temple belongs but the unwarranted Tulane shots get annoying. We have a lot of work to do but simply from a academic, recruiting, NOLA and national brand, Tulane adds value and tons of potential.

If we don't improve significantly this year and next (in both FBall and Bball), I will be the first to say how useless we are but we have finally come through Katrina and are investing far more then we have over the past 20 years.

If they can keep their bowl agreements that would be a huge relief for them. Let's face it: the seven other schools would have no place to go. Best to rebuild from the AAC.

Leaving Memphis out of that arrangement? Not freaking likely.

Fixed it for you. Although if UT, OU and Kansas left the Big 12, I doubt seriously the seven others would prefer to rebuild.

Let's face facts... That conference isn't "keeping" the Old Big XII's bowl contracts.

or TV contract

This conference would be better than we have now but I am not sure it would be a power conference and we would once again be on the outside looking in.....just making more money with better home conference games. Eh..I'd take it.
