AAC Bowl Tradition
Here is a list of AAC teams that have gone to Bowl games over the years and their bowl record.

Lets hope we can get bowl eligible this year. That is the goal IMO.

East- 58 (53/PS) total bowls
Team--------Total bowls---------Record
ECU-------------20 (15/PS)--------9-11 (6-9 according to Phil Steele CFB)
Cincinnati-------16 (15)------------8-8 (7-8)
UCF---------------7-----------------3-4
USF---------------6-----------------4-2
UCONN-----------5-----------------3-2
Temple-----------4-----------------2-2

West- 96 total bowls
Houston----------22----------------10-12
Navy-------------20-----------------9-10-1
Tulsa-------------19-----------------9-10
SMU--------------15-----------------7-7-1
Tulane------------12 (11)-----------4-8 (4-7)
Memphis----------8 (7)--------------5-3 (4-3)

AAC total bowl games = 154 -----73 wins, 79 losses, 2 ties

RE: AAC Bowl Tradition
Just for Bowl History comparability purposes, I've selected 4 Big12 teams. Of course i won't compare the top teams in that league for obvious reasons.

Team---------------Bowl Number-------------------W/L

Baylor------------------21----------------------------10-11

Iowa St----------------12-----------------------------3-9

Kansas-----------------12-----------------------------6-6

K State-----------------18-----------------------------7-11

RE: AAC Bowl Tradition
One of the reasons I was worrried TU wouldn't get an invite to the AAC was that we'd be stuck in a conference that had NO respect and this is a reason for that.

CUSA Bowl Tradition

Marshall - 11 Bowls (9-2)
WKU - 2 Bowls (1-1)
MTSU - 4 Bowls (1-3)
ODU - 0 Bowls
FIU - 2 Bowls (1-1)
FAU - 2 Bowls (2-0)
Charolotte - 0 Bowls
La Tech - 7 Bowls (3-3-1)
Rice - 12 Bowls (7-5)
UTEP - 14 Bowls (5-9)
So Miss - 20 Bowls (10-10)
NTU - 7 Bowls (2-5)
UTSA - 0 Bowls

Compared to the AAC, there IS no comparison and the schools like UTEP, Rice, Marshall and USM need to be somewhere else. CUSA has a total of 81 Bowl games spread out among 13 teams - that isn't even as many as the AAC West with only 6 teams. The MAC isn't much better since they have 14 teams and have only been in 82 bowls. Sunbelt teams have only been in 21 total bowls throughout history. The MWC actually has a couple more bowl appearances (156), but part of that has to do with them hosting bowl games such as the Hawaii, Las Vegas, New Mexico, Humanitarian, etc bowlgames.

IMO

A couple of notes about a few teams - in CUSA.

So Miss and Marshall will be in Bowl games while Rice and UTEP stay home. So imo that seems to mean the eastern schools in CUSA are passing the western (Texas) schools by, as far as fb (history) is concerned. This was a huge concern to me if we'd had to remain in CUSA and not able to move to the AAC. When all is said and done, history means a great deal as a measuring stick for your program imo.

So Miss = 21 bowls*
Marshall = 12 bowls*
*Bowl eligible teams for 2015.

Rice = 12 bowls
UTEP = 14 bowls
