Northern Illinois doesn't seem a likely call up for the AAC.

Why wouldn't they? If Cinci leaves they need a replacement of a strong footbalk team in a decent Midwestern market. Sounds like NIU to me. Unless they throw all their eggs in the east coast basket i guess.

So the b12 expansion committee officially exists. It's comprised of boren, gee, Ken Starr
Candidates: BYU, Boise State, UCF, Cincinnati, Colorado State, Houston and Memphis.
UCF and Cincy/BYU/Houston most likely, IMO
Those are the reporters list of candidates, not a quote from Gee. Still the likely list though.
At the very least an incomplete list. SD ST & Fresno make much better candidates than most of these. Why would a conference with 40% of it's current membership in 1 state want more teams from Texas? Boise draws well but has no TV market to speak of. SD ST draws nearly as many if not more fans for basketball than all of these but BYU, Boise & UCF do for football. Fresno outdraws Memphis, Cincy, Houston & CSU in football by a significant margin
You are wrong about Boise. They draw a national tv viewership than what you think. People always think Boise's tv market is small to only the state of Idaho. On ESPN, they nearly draw 2 million viewers which is like double the state's population. The way they are winning? People will tune in to watch no matter what state you live in.
As it is, the consensous is all east school invites. No BYU, Boise State, Colorado State, San diego State and Fresno State. No more schools from Texas either.
If they go to 6 schools? The top prospect for east schools are U.Conn (too far out), Cincinnati, Old Dominion, East Carolina, memphis, Tulane, UCF, USF and Northern Illinois. They should be near the top of the list before any schools in the west and Houston.

Without doing the math, Fresno averaged like 34k and Memphis 33k. They certainly don't draw the 16k Memphis does for basketball either.

Everyone knows that NIU is at the top of the list and will get a Big 12 invite.

NIU....meh.
Where is your stadium and university located anyways? When I am driving south to Chicago for meetings I will come across an exit to go to NIU, but I have never actually take that exit to see what the university and stadium is like or to see what town it is in.
Why meh on NIU? You dont like winning midwest teams?
I can't see the support being strong enough.
You mean that their 13k average fans per game just doesn't do it for ya?
LOL...NIU is the most delusional fan base out there.

The ONLY way you have a shot in the AAC is if Marshall and Old Dominion both turn down invites.
Run along kid, enjoy the MAC, and be thankful Marshall left to give the rest of you a shot at winning championships.

Well naturally a p5 fan looks down their nose at us, especially one who has never been to huskie stadium. That's to be expected. But still, your undying devotion to bringing us up every chance you get is adorable.

Oh god... Marshall and OD? Most AAC fans would rather go independent than see that happen

RE: B12 Expansion Committee Exists
It doesn't matter what most fans think, these are decisions made my administrators.
I bring NIU up because it is a very comical joke. You are what you are and there is nothing wrong with that, but this fantasy of Big 12 invites and AAC invites is just too much. The AAC is actually realistic so I will give you that one, but its still a long shot. Big 12, is just you guys in fantasy land.

If Cinci leaves, the American will be looking to replace a combination of decent football and basketball teams and to be firming up either their Eastern or Western division footprint.

RE: B12 Expansion Committee Exists
B-12 answered ? which way they go with WV
BYU touches every state in Mountians & West coast.
Conn gets them in NYC area.
opportunities are available to get in
3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, & 20th largest states
LHN has to become Quesia B-12 network

That is the kicker. If a Big12 network becomes reality the Big12 will need to expand its footprint dramatically. Florida, Tenn, Ohio, NC, would more than double their current footprint.

A Rock exists but, it does nothing without the aid of external forces.
