(CNN)The police chief in Lafayette, Louisiana, said a Thursday night shooting inside a movie theater left a number of people wounded and the shooter dead.

The shooter died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Sgt. James Anderson of the Louisiana State Police said.

Amy Schumer has already responded with a tweet about it. Bobby Jindal is in town for this, he is visiting the hospitals to check on the patients. There are 3 confirmed dead, two victims and the shooter, who died from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound. They are saying 7 wounded in addition to the fatalities. Please be in prayer.
