RE: BREAKING: GOP Strategists Plot to Ban Donald Trump From Debates
Banning Trump from the debates is actually the best move for Trump and for the other GOP candidates, too. Keeps him in the news as the "outsider" that the "establishment" is afraid to deal with, plus it spares the regular Jeb Bush-types the embarrassment of having to share a stage with him.

I wouldn't put it past his ego to run as a third party candidate....however, and he should know this....he will then become another fad ('course, I think that's part of the master plan anyway)

the dems are loving this bs.....

once again, the rnc doesn't have a clue.....

Disagree... Trump is liberal on guns and healthcare. He has flip flopped on other issues like abortion and traditional marriage. That is the ironic thing. He will get eviscerated in the debate, assuming the moderator is willing to play ball with the establishment (this is likely), due to his liberal positions on many issues. He has a lot of explaining to do. If they refuse to debate him, he will get stronger. If they do debate him, it is an opportunity to knock him down. The moderator takes immigration off the table and makes it about social issues and foreign policy and Bush and Rubio will come out looking better than him.

There will be 9 other candidates on the stage with Trump. The debate will last 120 minutes. If it is run properly, Trump will get 12 minutes.

I don't see a problem.

do not discount the atheists that are not like me (still in the closet)

I have yet to see a candidate with a social/fiscal position that I am willing to acknowledge as relevant...

once you toss god out of the equation, it become much easier to sift through the bs.....

y'all better start paying attention to why this working....

never mind.....the rnc better start.....

never mind

03-wink

edit: it's the purest of simple stinkfist logic....if the dnc doesn't do the god thingy, and the rnc gave up the god thingy....then what would be left as an option? oh shite....things that matter relative to running a country effectively? call me crazy....i'm just one guy....

No you should be worried. He's overshadowing republicans like Kaischic who actually have a chance to appeal to moderates like me.

ITT: People who had no problem with Ron Paul's treatment at the RNC, or Gary Johnson's treatment at the debates, or in fact Ron Paul's treatment at the debates .... suddenly find righteous indignity when the same is done to Trump.

I personally hated how RP was excluded from debates, but there is a difference here in that Trump has a lead in the polls and Paul never got any kind of traction in scientific polls (that I can remember).

They're pretty weak if they pass up a chance to debate Trump. Not that debates are very good for determining who to vote for.

Ron Paul wasn't excluded. They just ignored him on questions he would have drilled down their throat (spending, taxes, healthcare, etc) and only only ever gave him divisive questions (foreign policy, drug policy).

And Ron Paul was #1 in the polls in Iowa for a bit and only just missed winning Iowa. He won several other caucus states and territories.

This is what makes politics fun. If he gets in they will ask him questions and he will throw bombs, often with nothing at all to do with what he is asked. He will interrupt other people, throw a bomb and ignore any attempts to reign him in. He doesn't care what the rules are and will do as he pleases and no one will know how to deal with it. It will be very entertaining.

Agree. His ego is so big that he thinks only his opinion matters. He does have good ideas, nonetheless.
