1989 Basketball highlight video
Bret Mundt posted a highlight video of the 1989 season on youtube. For all you 40-somethings, this is a fun one to watch. Lots of Earnest Smith dunks.

That team was my earliest memories of Tiger basketball... I was 6 and remember going to see them at the coliseum for the first time.

I remember watching that 24-0 game and being absolutely giddy. I guess I was in 9th grade at the time.

No doubt - that, along with that "flipping square" transition on the video - awesome.

Thanks for sharing. Beautiful.

Brought back a lot of memories. I used to love the peculiar routine that Steve Ballard went through when shooting free throws, tapping his shoulder and what-not.

There isn't much fair about the world but if there was Larry would still be alive and still be the coach.

I watched footage of his funeral from YouTube recently and listening to Penny, Elliott and Andre talking you realized even further what a great man he was.

RE: 1989 Basketball highlight video
Lots of continuity there. Rodney was a senior who had played on the 20-0 team with Bedford and Andre right after Lee left. Ernest Smith was a freshman who went on to play with Penny and Anthony Douglas on the Elite Eight team in 1992. If they qualified academically to begin with, they played four years pretty much. I must admit, I liked the old days and the old ways much better.

That was something. The game should have been called at that point. It was over.

what a soundtrack, ahhh takes me back. the highlights were awesome. my favorite is when the ball gets tossed high into the air (off camera) and several players are looking for it ... then, BAM ... dude comes coasting down the floor, leaps and slams it home. Again, great video!

That game got uncomfortably close at the end.
