If the AAC could only have Public Universities?
No offense to Tulane (always enjoy the trip), Tulsa, SMU...
But, if you were forming an AAC with only public schools, who would you pick to replace the small private universities?
I would add UTSA, Georgia Southern and Georgia State...
UTSA is an up and comer like UCF. They are well supported and only deal with the Spurs
The Georgia teams have been historically good, but overshadowed by UGA.
TBH, I also like UMass just to light up the UConn v UMass rivalry.

RE: If the AAC could only have Public Universities?
Not that I would want to (SMU and Tulsa are two of our top rivals), but if I had to pick 3, I'd go -- Louisiana Lafayette, FIU, and NIU.

Great, so we go from being a re-hash of CUSA to being the Sun Belt.
The least you could do is get Southern Miss, Marshall, and NIU.... But even then I say stay with SMU, Tulane, and even Tulsa.
If you're going to change the conference, at least try to make it better, not worse.

I'm not sure you are any worse if you look at the teams mentioned.

And that would make our 'money pole' slightly smaller.

Why both Georgia Southern and Georgia State? It's one or the other... taking both would make little sense.

I would rather have a program that's still growing than one that peaked in CUSA. Some of those recent FCS programs have a lot of potential and could be the next UCF/USF/UConn.
I'll go with UTSA, Georgia Southern, and Old Dominion

In the OP's premise, would Navy be excluded? If so, I'd probably go with....
Cincinnati
Connecticut
East Carolina
Houston
Massachusetts
Memphis
Northern Illinois
Ohio
South Florida
Temple
Toledo
UCF
...but I prefer Navy, SMU, Tulane & Tulsa.

Doesn't really matter since Navy probably wouldn't come to a conference w/out the privates. Note - Navy *requested* to be placed in the Western Division so as to be associated with SMU, Tulane & Tulsa. Especially SMU.

I do think that Georgia Southern, ODU and Charlotte have long term potential.... Id MUCH rather stay how we are.
Now if schools in the MWC were a part of this possible expansion...
Colorado State, San Diego State, and Fesno.

Umm Georgia State and Georgia Southern have not been overshadowed by UGA. Georgia is in the SEC. Georgia State has never won a FBS game ever. Georgia Southern just moved up from FCS, so your comment on historically good is not correct. Georgia State is not good and Georgia Southern is a decent move up to FBS.
Here is who I would take:
Houston
Louisiana
Memphis
Arkansas State
Southern Miss
Georgia Southern
South Florida
UMASS
Connecticut
Temple
Cincinnati
Old Dominion
East Carolina
UCF

No. The suggested replacements make me sick to my stomach. This is one of the dumbest threads in the history of our AAC forum.

Question: since you think the AAC is so crappy, why do you (and the others like you) post here? Seems like you are only wasting your time and ours. Do think we need your negative garbage or do you enjoy doing it for some sick reason?
