RE: Fallout from Seattle's minimum wage increase.
The thing that makes no sense about the progressive minimum wage argument is that it relies upon the premise that raising it is economically feasible since workers will have more disposable income to spend on goods and services with their higher wages. So the argument goes, that will lead to higher profits that businesses can use towards hiring more workers, raising wages, and making new investments to keep the economy healthy. Yet at the same time, aren't these the same people who moan about businesses being inherently greedy and hoarding their profits instead of hiring more workers, raising wages, and making new investments?

It's not only Seattle.
Interesting.....
D.C. Restaurants Lose 1,400 Jobs Amid Minimum Wage Increase
snippet: Quote:In the first six months of 2016, leading up to a $11.50 per hour minimum wage, Washington, D.C., lost 1,400 restaurant jobs, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The decline in such jobs appears limited to the confines of the district. In the Maryland and Virginia suburbs surrounding D.C., restaurants added 2,900 jobs during the first six months of this year.

Imagine the outrage when the folks have to wait 10 minutes, instead of 5, for their lattes. I mean, like, there are only so many texts one can make while waiting, you know.

Lol.
I'm just going to place this in my "No Schit Sherlock" folder.
Who didn't see this coming?
And of course it disproportionately hits those that can least afford it- young entry level workers who may never find a job to begin with at all. Those living paycheck to paycheck already, working 2 jobs, 12 hours a day to make ends meet. These morons just put them back on the public dole too.
Good job, do-gooders. But hey, what's another 1400+++ lives thrown into turmoil or even ruined?

Consequences of actions do not matter to liberals. Only the intentions do.

It's all ok. We will just put them on welfare. Problem solved.

RE: Fallout from Seattle's minimum wage increase.
New study finds increased minimum wage may actually decrease workers' pay.
Why?
-Restaurants cut the average number of hours each employee worked by 9.4%.
Seattle’s $15 minimum wage may actually cost restaurant workers, study finds
Quote: “There is good reason to believe that increasing the minimum wage above some level is likely to cause greater employment losses than increases at lower levels,” wrote the authors, a group of researchers at the University of Washington.

Another example of conservatives proven correct when they were telling the left exactly what was going to happen as the left replied with attacks of "heartless" and "racist".
