John Garcia, Jr. @JohnGarcia_Jr 19m19 minutes ago
Alabama's top safety, ShawnDarius Jennings, set to commit to #Bama #AU or #Memphis Tuesday:

Quote:Memphis: "Memphis is in it because I like their coaching staff and I think I could fit in and play as a true freshman if I were to go there."

If we could lock Fuente in for 10 years can you imagine the caliber of players we could start signing. We probably won't get this guy, but our staff certainly got his attention.

Your right we want get this kid, but it's cool to be in on the same recruit that Alabama and Auburn want. My take is he ends up at Bama. Probably a no brainer. He knows that he want play his first year at Bama.

We were on Marcus Mariota's short list also, if I recall.
Was that Fuente, or Porter who recruited him?

We were also on Lache Seastrunk's final list - 5 star RB from TX. That was LP...
Good job on CJF's part either way.

To get in the top 3? Or to get the commit? Or both?

I'm willing to bet he doesn't have a committable offer from Bama. They've pretty much abandoned the state of Alabama in recruiting aside from the 5 stars and high ranked 4 stars. Not sure about Auburn, but I wouldn't be surprised if this kid was far down on their board as well. I like our chances here.

Mariota only had 2 offers, OR and Memphis. It was known for a long time that he was going to OR because he went to camps there and said he wanted to go there.

I'm ready for us to start landing 3-4 of these players per year. They would make a major impact on our roster. Yes, these are more above the radar players. I'm not taking away from the steal "under the radar" players we signed like Davis, Henderson, Avery, White, etc... Just would like to see a few of these fall out way too. Keep winning!!

His brother is Anfernee Jennings - an incoming 4-star freshman DE at Bama.

I guess I'm confused, if he doesn't have an offer from AL, then why are they in his final 3?

I'd bet he does have a committable offer, given the family ties

I didn't know he was part of a package deal. He still may not have a spot in their class, regardless. I'd be surprised if he was a take for them at this point.

I hope your right, but I would be totally SHOCKED if he didn't commit to AL.

You're confusing our university with your favorite down in Oxford, if it wasn't for the $$ they spread around, they couldn't compete at all.
