Hello fellow CAA fans! As JMU is my second favorite school in the CAA, I wanted to share this with all of you right after I posted it on the W&M boards.

We at the W&M Sports Blog recently wondered how many players from the CAA were in the NFL--and specifically which school has produced the most NFLers in recent years. Yes, it's early in the offseason. Many cuts will be made during teams' Summer Camps. But it's still very interesting to see how many NFL players each school has, and as a whole how many former CAA players are in the NFL. JMU faired very well on the list; I think all of you will be satisfied how they fare relative to the other CAA programs.

Thanks for dropping this off. You shouldn't be afraid to declare W&M the winner based on a Mike a Tomlin bonus points.

Former Villanova receiver Matt Szczur is currently playing for the Chicago Cubs. I know it's MLB, but he was extremely talented at nova and probably would be in the NFL had he committed to football.

That guy singlehandedly broke my heart in the '09 playoffs. Helluva athlete.

I realize your list is a good faith effort, but excluding Akeem Jordan, who is currently a free agent, but who has been in the league for several years and started and played well for KC last year, would appear to be an oversight.

Szczur broke a lot of hearts while at Nova!! Was a great player.

Blame ESPN for that one! But the list is also intended to indicate current players on NFL teams, not free agents who have not been signed.

See also Jeff Samardzija, although he's been traded from the Cubs (and a few times after that). One of the all time great WRs at Notre Dame. Chose to be a pitcher in MLB instead.

Good choice.

Hofstra was last in the CAA for football and I don't see any players listed for them, unless I missed something. That would increase the number.

Marques Colston of the Saints played at Hofstra.

According to ESPN, there are 4 active players from Hofstra. Colston, Kyle Arrington, Stephen Bowen, and Willie Colon.
