Kazemi Bleacher Report Article

It would have been nice if the article had tied Greenspan's comments to
Former AD Greenspan. They said former Asst Coach Morcos.

Unfortunately there is no way to leave a comment so perhaps the Athletic Dept should contact Bleacher Report to clarify that RG is no longer AD.

Tiki, the article at least now correctly attributes the comments to Greenspan, but they fail to mention that he's a former AD. Also, for those who are learning about these comments for the first time, he also purportedly made inappropriate comments toward the women's basketball team.

It would be nice as well if the article mentioned he went back to Rice after his Oregon days were over to get his degree from Rice (correct?). There are some things that could have been mentioned too about his career at Rice (playing for a Jewish head coach, and having to experience a lot of racism from opponents as well in addition to Greenspan). But overall, it's a nice article for one of my favorite Rice players ever.

Maybe Keith Law will explain how it's Wayne Graham's fault.

In other news, Kazemi lead the NBA Summer League in the NBA's newest stat, hustle points. Anyone who remembers Kazemi diving for loose balls and deflecting passes while at Rice is probably unsurprised by this.

Walt, that is the point I was trying to make when I hurriedly posted this earlier today. They said AD Greenspan not former AD Greenspan. As I pointed out they referred to Morcos as former asst coach Morcos.

To clarify - although it sounded like you were saying that they attributed the racially-tinged comments to Morcos, I don't think that's what you intended.

AL.com condensed the crux of the report:
• Greenspan told [former assistant coach Marco] Morcos to ...

RE: Kazemi Bleacher Report Article
It seems the writer's main focus in the article is Kazemi himself and not Rice. The way the article reads in referencing Rice really makes Rice look bad. No mention of Ben Braun at all, just a link to the season after Kazemi left.

Someone from the present AD's office really would be doing a good thing if they contacted the writer of this story and got the relevant facts cited by posters above corrected. We can't change what Greenspan did or said, but we can make it clearer that Rice did ultimately take action and perhaps even mention a brief sentence about the culture change happening under new Head Coach Mike Rhoades.

I would suppose Joe Karlgaard would have an interest in clearing the omissions and mistakes in this article up, as it can be searched and used to recruit against Rice.
