But they called him "Chris Bosh" though.... Most of you don't understand how humiliating and belittling that can be.

He should be flattered, but I'm sure the girls were using it as an insult considering the jokes about Bosh's sexual orientation given some not-so-"masculine" actions in the past.

Masculinity is such a fragile thing in this country.

It was most definitely an insult and has nothing to do with orientation, but the general consensus that Bosh is ugly. I'm not saying he is or isn't, just that is the popular opinion. See; memes of Bosh compared to an ostrich.

I see more memes taking shots at Bosh's manhood than I do his looks.

I support whatever the decision the coaches make. They are privy to more information about the incidents than I am.

I am usually in the camp that says we should loosen our standards for dismissal and suspension a little, but I can't get on board with a guy who has been involved in 4 fights that necessitated police involvement in about a year. No matter what inside knowledge they may have, you just can't justify that sort of proclivity to violence, and poor judgement. You don't just end up in a fight, although the people who do get involved in fights regularly will swear that it just happens to them. If you make good choices you don't get into fights, and you surely don't get into 4 of them in a year when your are already on probation and your full scholarship to play basketball at a division 1 program is at stake. It shows a serious character flaw that I don't want any association with.

I've said it before, but will say again...I totally agree with your position. I don't want him to be associated with the program...sorry if that leaves a bad taste in some mouths, but 4 strikes to me is too many strikes. Misdemeanor or not. It shows that he continually makes poor choices. Aim High right? Is that what we are doing here?

The joke is that Bosh is gay. There is no debate here. That's what it is.

Douglas will never play a minute or a second more for ODU. FACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now let's move on to some of these fine young men we are recruiting who will be playing for us. We are also interested in overseas players as well. I think it is great that we are going after so many players. They have to understand that there are many offers but few spots. The old saying you snooze you lose was never more appropriate!

How do you know this?

There are recruiting threads as well that are active so I don't know what the move on comment was about. This one is about Douglas and is a legitimate discussion.

blewbyu tends to get these things right. If he's claiming it as fact, I would almost put money on it.

That's great but if people want to talk about Javonte, then that's their choice...

RE: Douglas
We praise Jeff Jones for his coaching a great season but are quick to judge because he hasn't let a player go fast enough. I guarantee he has gone through this situation be for with other players and other schools. Everyone on here has an opinion but probably doesn't have 1/10th the information and facts that JJ has. HE and the staff will make the right call with looking at all the facts. Hopefully it works out for everyone and we can have a great season.

RE: Douglas
I am certainly not complaining that he hasn't let the player go fast enough, and I don't think I have noticed anyone else saying that either. I, however, do not believe that there is could be any further information that could make Douglas's run ins with the law any more palatable. If it was one isolated incident, I would be willing to chalk it up to any number of possible extenuating circumstances. Even it it were 2 incidents, I would be ok with a suspension and a stern talking to. But 4 incidents in a year is beyond any excuse that the kid may have.

This is 100% pure speculation on my part but I am guessing Coach Jones and staff are trying to do right by Javonte by making calls and finding somewhere else for him to play rather than simply cutting him.

I am guessing any announcement of his departure will also include where he is going.

My recollection (a suspect source, I fully concede) is that Coach Taylor did much the same for Joe Bunn.

The Joe Bunn incident happened while Jeff Capel was coach not Blaine Taylor.
