As many of you know, all of my K-12 education was through WMU, first at the Campus School (K-8) and then at State High, both located in the East Campus buildings. I received a letter from one of my State High classmates stating that East Hall will be housing the WMU Alumni Center, and that Campus School and State High alumns would be able to donate to name a conference room to honor those two fine educational institutions. I was certainly happy to do that, and sent in a small contribution. I have been astounded at the reaction from WMU. First, a very nice letter of thanks from the Alumni Center. Two weeks later, I received a very cool photo card from a WMU student thanking me, with a great photo of Bronco student fans on the cover. And then 2 nights ago, I had a phone call from another WMU student who thanked me profusely for my contribution to the Alumni Center's conference room.

I mean, who does this any more? I was really, really impressed with the response to my small donation. Kudos to WMU for taking the time to connect on such a personal level. And GO BRONCOS!!

That's awesome. Things like this get people not just looking for a tax writeoff to donate more.

Whinny, when were you at "State High"? A couple of my friends were there also, so I'm wondering if you were a classmate. Now if you don't wish to disclose such personal information here, send me a private message.
