However, my boss was looking for some certain TV that they had at Best Buy @ Poplar/ 240 and we hit a place called "Burger Joint" (I think that was the name). It wasn't bad at all. If I'm ever over that way again, I'll probably go back.

Also, I was amazed at how much construction they've done on I-240 from Walnut Grove to Poplar. Haven't been that way in a month of Sundays.

I don't live far from 240 and Poplar, and am in that shopping center all the time. But, I've never made it to the Burger Joint. I need to try it out.

Lots of really good restaurants have opened in the last couple of years. It's really fun if you like to go out to eat and try different things.

A few I still need to try are

Andrew Michael

Hog and Hominy

and apparently the Broken Egg place.

Hog and hominy is expensive. Having said that, the collards green are unbelievable.

A group of us had lunch yesterday at Russo's New York Pizzeria in Germantown. It's not a new place, but I had not eaten there in a while. Everyone got something different and it was all excellent.

Wouldnt mind Russo's but everything tends to be extra greasy.

I think Andrew Michael and hog and hominy are two of the most overrated places in the city, especially andrew michael (and yes, I know both are andrew michael restaurants). It's overly expensive low county italian. There are way better choices in the city.

I got the Lucia Pizzotti(?) and it was great. I had something very similar in Florence and found this a good representation of that type of lunch food. Everybody else seemed pretty satisfied with what they got, but personally I can only vouch for the one dish.

Russo's food is consistently good but their service is consistently very bad.

I've tried Belly Acres multiple times, and every time I wind up saying "LBOE is still better." I like the atmosphere of Belly Acres better, and the burgers are good, but in a straight food comparison, LBOE has them beat, imo.

I agree with whomever said Belly Acres' buns overpower the burger. I'm learning that the simpler you order there, the better.

Bounty on Broad is good, but as many others have said, pricey. The last time we went there our server was HORRIBLE. Not a reflection on the place overall; she just wasn't the brightest bulb in the pack.

If you haven't gone to City & State over on Broad to get some coffee, you're missing out.

I still haven't made it over to the new reincarnation of Cafe Ole' yet to try it out....I've heard mixed reactions. I remember killing HOURS on the weekend drinking margaritas on their patio back over 10 years ago.

I dunno, never been to LBOE. Is it pricey too?

I like the sour dough bun at BA. Didn't seem to overpower the Cure burger I got. The burgers can be messy when you pile all the goodies on them.

Does LBOE serve the kids meal on a frisbie they can keep?

As a side note, since we are talking a lot of Square restaurants.

Why doesn't The Studio have movie only parking? Pisses me off you can't park in that lot to see a movie because it's so full from Square patrons.

LBOE is around Belly Acres pricing - very similar.

No frisbee for the kids, and like I mentioned, less "atmosphere" in my opinion, but the burgers I've had there are better than my choices at BA. The first one I got at BA was nothing but a puddle of grease - the hot pow.

I prefer LBOE's fries to BA's as well, but they're a separate menu item there - you get a HUGE basket of them though - myself, my husband, & my son barely finished them (and I took 1/2 my burger home).

Their burgers come with sea salt potato chips, Zapp's voodoo, or Nikki's hot ass chips.

I'm sure they haven't so everyone is more liable to park on the other side of the square to go out to restaurants before or after the movie, but yeah - for a 2:30 movie when I'm going home right afterwards, I get the irritation.

I've noticed that Bogie's over there in OS has changed names, and they're charging for their parking unless you're a patron of their restaurant.
