RE: Beard article
Intensity
focus
good fundamental basketball instead of being flashy
ferocious and physical halfcourt defense
never give up
afraid of no one
blue collar
make opponents feel like they have been through a war
make opponents dread playing you
no egos, no one cares who gets the credit

Just a few.

Hotdogging. Doing that that are purely cosmetic and will get lots of cheers, but add nothing to the team's performance. Taking unnecessary risks that make you a hero if they are successful, but hurt the team if they don't work. Playing in order to look good instead of to help the team.

Anyway, I thought it was an excellent article about Coach Beard.

Totally agree with everything you said, I don't think we will have that problem. I've heard Coach Beard is a no non sense type of guy and we will have a deep enough bench if someone wants to play like that will be sitting. This is our year, I wonder how many of our guys will be on the pre season all conference teams list. I think Josh will get preseason first team and Roger should be on second team, and Mareik should have a chance to make the list the way he played in conference last year and is the conference leader in 3 point percentage. What do you all think.

That is my impression, also. I think we may have the best of both worlds in Beard. More flexibility than with Shields, but not to the point of being stupid.

If Josh does not make the first team, the Belt is a lot deeper than I think it is. And based on Roger's numbers, he should be on the list somewhere. Based on how they have picked in the past, I doubt Mareik will be on the preseason just based on minutes played so far. But he could easily be on the post-season, and that is one that counts.
