From Georgia Southern, Adrian Peterson.

Over 9k career rushing yards when counting postseason games. That mark will probably never be topped in DI.

36 consecutive 100-yard rushing games and (I believe) a good bit more when counting postseason games.

Tyrell Fenroy and Alonzo Harris from UL. Fenroy is one of 7 backs in FBS history to have 4 seasons with 1000+ yards rushing. Harris is the second leading career rusher from the RB position at UL.

As a plus, both compiled all their stats as SBC athletes.

it would be hard to top petersen. our dexter bussey was the all time leading rusher for detroit for a long time till billy sims took over. and derrick jensen had a good carreer with the oakland raiders after rushing for 3346 yards, the first slc player to do that.

Fenroy was damn good. And that QB that ran it with him was fun to watch too.

I try to beat the GS drum as quietly as possible on this board, but Div I's all time leading rusher is going to be hard to beat.

Mike Desormeaux was a stud. For you East Coast guys, he was like Pat White, but faster, and a better ball handler.

Adrian Peterson, GS 1998-2001. Over 9000 career rushing yards and over 100 rushing TD's. Over 50 consecutive 100+ yards games. His 1999 season was probably the greatest season by a college running back ever.

Too many records to mention..... statistically the greatest running back ever in D-1.

FCS is Division 1. The technicality is that it is FCS instead of FBS. But he put up the same numbers every time we faced FBS opponents, and did do r running behind an FCS line.

Note: He shattered uga's Herschel Walkers freshman rushing record in this state by about 500 yards!
