The good news is that, even though the football team stinks, a few other spectators might be attracted just to see and listen to the band. As a bonus, coaches could tell recruits that UConn has the biggest band in the wealthiest state in the union. The bad news, of course, is that it would take a lot of buses to transport 20,000 band members from Storrs to that rented, off-campus stadium in East Hartford.

Another ass hole.

Maybe if you weren't a commuter school you'd be P5.

Well, if y'all are going to brag about UConn's flagship status, the school needs to start looking and acting like one. You know, a longer history, a respectable endowment, a much higher research profile, a functional alumni association, a more attractive campus, and better facilities. The truth is, when I was at UC, there were a lot of kids from Connecticut in my classes and social circle. For them, it was a very long commute.

Look, I don't have anything against UConn. I have family members who earned their degrees there. But the amount of hubris flowing out of the place is beyond the pale.

Almost as bad as CUSA fans thinking their conference isnt declining BIG TIME. There is a reason "you're becoming CUSA 2.0" is used as an insult man, come to terms with it now and it'll soften the blow later

And yet its still better than the MAC. lol
Most non-CUSA fans will tell you the MAC is a better conference right now. If i had to rank right now, it'd be

MWC or AAC (kinda a toss up here)

MAC

CUSA

SBC

Just because you all believe it, doesnt mean its true. Follow the TV money bob... CBS just subleased the MAC which basically means you're facing an uphill battle AND your commish goes full "lolnocya" to your conference when (if what many suspect is true) your TV negotiations start going south. Try harder here guy, you gambled to jump to a different conference and lost. Now take your medicine.

But don't worry, it's not ALL doom and gloom... you're not in the Sunbelt =) yet haha

Have you taken a survey?

I would guess most would put the MAC 4th. But I haven't taken a survey either.

And the other poster is correct. Part of the playoff money is divided by computer rankings. And it was:
1 MWC
2 CUSA
3 AAC
4 MAC
5 SB

IMO, most typical will be
1 AAC
2 MWC

3 CUSA
4 MAC

5 Sun Belt

One oddity from last year was that North Dakota State showed up in polls for the FBS schools. That is a hint that NDSU could be in a bowl picture if they moved up. Eastern Washington also appeared on polls as well. I think with some of the top FCS schools showing up part of the FBS polls got you to think more schools with the best football that can move up.
Jacksonville State and James Madison also showed up in the FBS polls when they beat P5 schools.

We have a great campus, great facilities, etc. TV announcers say our facilities are "state of the art". We just upgraded hockey and we're building a new stadium for that. The state has invested something like $3.5 billion in UConn over the last 20 years and we're now the #14 public FBS school. That puts us ahead of most P5 schools.

We're doing ok. We just need a better venue for BB in Hartford and better FB coaching.

Try to be a grown up and not mock other schools. I know it's hard, but you can do it.

As far as the people who actually matter, as well as the objective computers, the rankings are currently this.

MWC

CUSA

AAC

MAC

Sun Belt

LOLOLOLOLOLOL. Marshall fans are the only ones that truly believe the FCS call up league (CUSA) is better than the AAC.
They are quite silly, aren't they? I should probably stop, it's not smart to argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. Flyhawk is probably one of Marshall's MANY NQs that just found out that shiny tv in his dorm is actually a computer and stumbled over here from Imgur

MWC and AAC are the next level behind p-5. To argue otherwise is ridiculous.

You guys need to get real and stop these ridiculous scenarios where MAC and C-USA teams are somehow equal.

This pretty much puts it in perspective. the Money is simply different. There are a few outliers but certainly a trend between conferences.

For some reason this hasn't been reported a lot, but UConn athletics in fiscal year 2014 had $37.2 million in revenue. Do you know that UConn is forecasting an 18% drop in athletic revenues???? The forecast for fiscal year 2015 is for $31.4 million.

Let that sink in.
Page 10:

That is $6 million less that UConn has to spend. Look for this to be a huge mega-story.
This is the the most recent issue.

ESPN finds itself on the wrong end of the score for a change in Connecticut. The recipient of $26 million in tax credits from the state during the last fiscal year, the self-proclaimed World Wide Leader In Sports could see its corporate tax liability as much as double under Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's austerity plan.
Many companies are simply leaving. Perfect example of the state shooting themselves in the foot, again.

I love the very detailed reasons you don't like UConn followed by I have nothing against UConn

According to the chart on link
AAC has
44 Uconn
52 cincy
55 memphis
56 UCF
57 USf Before first MWC school.

MWC has #59 thru 62, Sd st, AF, Boise, Nevada

First CUSA school is ODU at 64.

followed by UH and ECU before the next MWC school.

First Mac is #72
First Belt is # 74.

There is a very real pecking order in the gang. and it likely will get bigger.

You realize that chart omits about a dozen schools, many which are above your list? Also, look at the subsidy and profit.... UConn's real revenue is in the $30Ms.
