ESPN can rot; bad for America
I heard about what Espin pulled last night with the espys. Political hacks now too? Shameful. ESPN is evil because, just like fake journalism networks like Fox News and msnbc, ESPIN makes the news, they don't report it. They made news up about Tim Tebow for years when he was not relevant in sports or news, tried to destroy by ignoring entities they had no contract with (NHL, Olympics, MWC, CUSA) and did destroy colleges with their push to end long time regional conferences who wouldn't play with them. (big east was destroyed by ESPN who pushed tv partner ACC to raid them of their football schools. from 03 to 12, the big east lost 6 of their football schools to the ACC. BC's former AD, "ESPN told us what to do" Espin didn't even bother to send announcers to several of their basketball games last season. Shameful. Espin destroys schools by labeling them as "mid-major" even when they are not, and even if their not a basketball program. They use the term to describe every football school not in their made up "P5". They used the stupid BCS label to separate schools from 98 to 2013. And finally, thank you espin for ending UT/A&M, WV/Pitt, KU/Mizzou, BYU/Utah, CUSE/UCONN, Nebraska/Colorado/KU,KSU and many more great rivalry games, the things that make college sports great. ESPIN. Hacks, disgusting filthy political and criminal hacks. Cheers!

So, what exactly did they do last night? I never have and never will watch the ESPY's.

Gave Caitlyn Jenner the Arthur Ashe courage award. Political PC hacks. I'm biased because I hate politics, but when I'm watching sports I expect that I'm watching sports. If I wanted to watch political shows I'd watch msnbc and fox. I'm very close to cutting cable. Cheers!

ESPN has been stirring the pot for a couple decades now. Stephen A. Smith, Jemele Hill... heck remember when they hired Rush Limbaugh? You know the only reason they hired him was to stir up controversy (and they subsequently fired him because he did what they intended him to do).

I miss the days when ESPN was actually about sports.

Caitlyn Jenner is running for office now too? Geez. She's on TV as much as Trump. That's not really fair.

I don't know if she is running for office. I do know that she is not an athlete and did nothing to deserve a sports award for courage. Maybe Bruce Jenner could have won an espy if there was such a thing in the days when he was an athlete. Cheers!

Disney is what makes ESPN political, the mouse is very left leaning. Heck, just about everything in the media, entertainment, academics is very left leaning to the point they want to eliminate dissent but that is just the natural progression from your naive good hearted liberal to a dictator.

This is a symptom of a much larger problem. Only a leftist organization would award Bruce Jenner a "sports award" for being a sexual deviant and spin it as "courageous".

I don't really care much about this, but this comment is just silly. Are you suggesting that Caitlyn Jenner and Bruce Jenner are two different people? Because if not, your comment about Caitlyn not being an athlete is pretty ridiculous. You can argue whether the award was deserved or not, however you cannot argue the athletic success of the person, and if they are qualified to be a sports personality.

Uh......if they are the same person why do they have two different names? I do know some person named Bruce Jenner won Olympic gold, I do know that no one named Caitlyn Jenner ever won Olympic gold. I think that was the point. While Caitlyn and Bruce may share the same DNA, they do have vastly different physical characteristics and hormone levels, therefore they are not the same person.

Obviously there is an political agenda that led to ESPN singling out Jenner for praise.

In the big picture they just gave an award to someone for giving in to their body dysmorphia , a families of disorders that includes anorexia and apotemnaphilia (that condition where people want perfectly functional limbs amputated because they feel like the limb isn't part of their body). If an ex-female athlete starves herself down to 65 lbs is that an award clincher?

This isn't about beignets a contrarian. His is calling you out for one of the most mind numb kingly stupid things ever quoted on this hoard. Absolutely moronic, unequivocally dumb statement. Calling you an idiot is not being contrarian: it's actually he majority opinion, and this is quite bold proof. Again deserving of the award is one thing. But you are literally trying to say these are two different people... Because of a name change. You cannot possibly say anything more stupid this year than that, high we know you will try as hard as you can.

On the other hand, maybe your idea has merit. Maybe now Cassius Clay can get in the boxing hall of fame as well. Maybe Lew Alcinder till get an invite to the NBA hall of fame. You know since they changed their names and are different people than Muhammad Ali and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. 03-banghead

wow...your really mad. You missed my over all point. But anyway, if Cassius Clay had a sex change, changed his name to Cathie Clay and won an award for having the sex change...whatever, your obviously a political person. I dislike politics but love sports. Calm down. Cheers!

Check the thread homie. Who made a thread saying "ESPN can rot?" Was it you, or was it me? Who sounds mad? The problem is, you are mad over something that is made up in your mind, under the premise that a name change makes him a different person. Your words, not mine. Think before you speak. You sound really ignorant on one side, and really dumb on the other.

Again I am not concerned with whether she deserves the award. That is another debate. The issue was your premise, that she is not a sports figure, and for that reason was undeserving, which is asinine in so many ways, I just can't comprehend how this is even a discussion. It is you, at this point, who is trying to be contrarian, since you are the one putting up the fight against someone else's decision. Again, think before you speak.
