If you've looked at the list so far, it's pretty bizarre. I'm not putting any stock in it.

Wow they pick Buffalo to be bowl eligible this year with a first year HC.
Ball St at 55...19 spots above WMU and 10 above Ohio???
I am not so sure about this list.

There's worse that that. Arkansas was on the board some time ago - just as an example.

Does the old guy still do it for his new employer? I have not seen one this year.

These are really odd rankings. The only thing I can think is they aren't judging teams so much by their talent but maybe by their final record. Arkansas is certainly a top 20 team.

The ACC Journal is predicting that BC loses to NIU.
@LarryWilliamsTI: The ACC Sports Journal predicts a pretty good season for Clemson. http://t.co/NHmR8EDliJ

UNLV is #128 on their list, ouch. UNLV may not be great, but they certainly are not a bottom 25 program this year

Yeah give me 5 reasons UNLV should be even halfway respectable this year

RE: Orlando Sentinel 128 countdown
In some ways they remind of me NIU in that their strength this year should be in the skilled positions, particularly at WR. With a veteran QB and explosive receiving core, they are going to put up points, enough so that I don't think they are going to be one of the worst programs out there this year. Also like NIU their perceived strength is at linebacker/defensive back.

So this means 3 MAC teams in the top 41, not bad, not bad. I don't think this is the year of the Bronco, but WMU at 74? yikes, that seems a bit harsh.

They won't be more than halfway respectable... they're just not going to be THE worst in the country. #128, the very bottom? Worst than Kent, EMU, wtf-Sun-Belt, and a few D1AA joiners? Naw, not that bad. I would put UNLV at #100.
Ball State #55 -- I know BSU could be a sleeper this year, but yeah, they have them above:
- South Carolina
- Michigan
- Washington
- Virginia Tech
- Texas
- Florida
- West Virginia
- UCF
- East Carolina
- Arkansas
- Colorado State
- Air Force
- NC State
- WMU (by 19 spots)
It sounds like BSU is chasing a BCS Bowl with that comparison!

Why? Tough schedule for WMU: Michigan State,@Georgia Southern,@Ohio State,@Ohio, Ball State,BGSU,@NIU,@Toledo. They have to win two of these games to go 6-6. Plus an injury to the QB and they could be in real
trouble.

RE: Orlando Sentinel 128 countdown
Well, do you rank the teams on how well they'll be ranked at the end of the season, or how Good they are? I would think in a Top 1-128, it would be based on how good they are.
WMU Guaranteed Loses: MSU, @OSU
WMU Likely Loses: @NIU, @Toledo
WMU Either 45/55 or 55/45 Chance (toughest-easiest): @GA-Southern, BGSU, Ball State, @Ohio
The way I see it, WMU *should* get 6-6, very possibly 7-5. But with a schedule like that, that doesn't even include their rival (CMU), one shouldn't treat said 6-6/7-5 team as a #80 or anything -- should be, IMO, around #64 [exact middle]. Depends on how well they fare in their losses (and wins).

I also think a top 128 should be based on how good they are, not the schedule. This particular ranking is clearly factoring in schedule and SOS to have Arkansas at 70 (which is clearly top 25 caliber team). If I were ranking MAC teams I would have Toledo at tier 1 right around where they have them at 40, and then Id bunch up tier 2 of BG, NIU, and WMU all really close together between 45 and 55
