Memphis trying to remove CSA General Nathan Bedford Forrest's remains..
I know the headliner for this will be that he founded the Kkk, but he was also one of the finest generals in American history and quit the klan because he thought it had gotten too radical. The flag is one thing, disturbing remains is going to a new level.

They are trying to force through a bill to forbid display of Confederate flags on Confederate graves in National Cemeteries.

I won't pretend to know the detailed history, but I think I read they were moved to this memorial years ago and now they are being moved back to where he and his wife were originally buried (and wanted to buried) anyway.

There seems to be an effort to portray it as a kindness to dig them up and move them. The move is not intended as a kindness...or to fulfill his wishes.
