I knew that would be the case. Kid is probably scared to be too far from home lol

Or he grew up a Bradley fan or he wants to play to sellout or 10000+ crowds regularly

Lol Bradley doesn't average 10k plus per game so I'm not sure where you got your numbers.

They do average 5700 per game though which is still a pretty solid number.

Bradley has not been good lately. When they are good they are thousands higher than 5700.

Probably has a father and grandfather who recounts the long-ago glory days of Bradley basketball. And the media down there treat the Braves as if they're the Duke Blue Devils.

This is a ridiculous statement for someone who I'm fairly confident has accused others of being "bullies" or similar words on this board. It's a kid making his college decision. There's nothing wrong with wanting to play closer to home and every single recruit takes distance from home into consideration.

I don't see any negatives with this kids decision! Playing close to home has to be a awesome thing for a kid. Also, NIU basketball is not an easy thing to sell recruits. NIU plays in front of a 1000 people, these kids are playing for bigger crowds in High School.

RE: NIU offers Metamora star
If you want to pick, a nit, fine, but actually Bradley--who finished LAST in the MVC, averaged 6600 in 2014. When they are up, the crowds are much bigger. Same with ISU, SIU and UNI. Wichitas State averaged 10,700 and MVC as a whole averaged 5600....all of which beats the hell out of NIU's average crowd of 1012.

The point is, there is a helluva lot more excitement at a game with a crowd of 6600 in an arena about the size of NIU compared with having 9000 empty seats in Dekalb. Heck, even Loyola's measley crowds of 2500 in a house that hold 5500 rattles the bones when the Ramblers are on a run.

All in all, methinks the kid made a great choice for him and good luck to him in becoming a home town hero where his friends and family can watch every game as away games in the MVC are on TV and I don't mean the half ass ESPN computer production.

Seriously? Bradley has been horrible & ever since they drastically increased the donation money needed to even buy decent season ticket seats they have lost fans in the thousands.
I live 12 miles from Bradley (if that) so I know what I say is fact.

As I said, crowds are falling falling and falling for Bradley. They play in a rather empty looking Peoria Civic Center...and the rafters sure ain't rockin' these days lol. The Civic Center arena holds 11,433 people for basketball.
Like Beach Boy said - the Peoria media usually acts like Bradley MBB is like royalty but even THEY are jumping off the bandwagon. Many of their reporting is on the LACK of excitement regarding games.

So the kid likely wants to stick close to home - good for him.

Yes, he probably wants to stay close to home but you (Huskie football addict) made it sound like that was a bad thing. Saying the kid was probably scared to leave home came across as a negative.

Kidding around...jeesh.
Don't take it so seriously
