If Akron drops the MAC would add JMU in a heartbeat. Unfortunate for Akron and their fans but I wouldn't mind that swap.

Akron has to drop baseball and A&M is building a lake in its tailgate area.

As of 1 p.m. today, they've corrected the article to take that reference out. Either enough of us pointed out their stupidity or someone finally did some editing.

And we're in their conference. The qualifications to be a "journalist" must be pretty low these days.

Interesting article on Ball State's athletic finances.

"If we're not going to fund it to be competitive in the MAC (Mid-American Conference), then we really ought to look at ... other divisions ...," Hancock said.

First Akron, then Ball State. The Ball State story could be NIU next.
The numbers are very similar. Thank God our Board of Trustees still support our sports. If the public tide changes, we are in deep trouble.

The Cleveland Plain Deale started a series on the finances of all Ohio Universities so this will be good reading on all the MAC schools in Ohio. You can click on each school and there is a summary on each.
