We all should have seen something was terribly wrong during the 2013 season. That team was too talented to get blown out as many times as they did.

Wolken has no clue. You don't have to pay every penny up front. Most schools work deals like 1 or 2 million a year for a few years to buyout contracts. It could of happened this year but the AD didn't want it!

We will have a new coach next year at this time!

Part (maybe much) of the $2.65 is based on the MAXIMUM he can earn with bonuses like winning COY, NCAA title, progressing a certain level in the NCAAt, radio fees, etc.

I would be willing to bet that, if necessary, $3mm will be the magic number come next April.

Hey thanks. Never actually seen a copy of the contract. In the article you posted the re-ups hadn't taken place automatically yet.

However, you are spot on. His contract is now rock solid until 2020, so even after the end of this season, he'll still have a buyout in the $10mm range.
