We're trying to get rid of mobile home in the sky, why would we want an aluminium shed to be the replacement?

Hey hey now! They used low grade Chinese steel, not aluminum.

They actually used breadsticks and shellac

Concrete filled bamboo would have been rust free...and stronger.07-coffee3

Pirates will come out when a conference member is ranked or doing well. Not much support when we are ok and we play a 4-3 team mid season.
Mostly agree. Home conference games averaged 42,450 last year in a 3 win season. As ECU improves, and especially if opponents improve, I think we could average closer to 50,000 for conference games. The stadium expansion should help with interest for 2018.

Wow, this is going to be even better than I thought. Really impressed with this project

This is more a renovation than an expansion. We are adding 1500 premium seats and new pressbox which is badly needed. Other upgrades are included and stadium will be really nice atmosphere to enjoy a game.

I wish we were adding a second scoreboard. If you’re in the boneyard it’s tough to see it and if you’re on the end of the horeseshoe it’s a bit far sometimes.

Our worst football team in recent memory was good enough to beat the Huskies.

We are one win from being at .500 and still have a chance at a bowl. We have improved so much since that game. Yall are still in the basement of the league. We are starting to climb out of it.

RE: ECU getting bids for football stadium expansion
I have seen some questions about the schedule for the stadium and other buildings demo and construction. A revised 57 page schedule posted online 11/07 can be downloaded here: Revised Bid Schedule. Work begins 11-20-17. The schedule includes info about the temporary press box being complete by 08-22-18, ten days before the North Carolina A&T game. The entire project is scheduled for completion by 05-31-19.
This is the first page, which contains the master schedule:

Thousands of pages of blueprints, specs, etc. can be downloaded here: Project: Dowdy Ficklen Stadium Southside Renovation

Edit: I see TheBigEastSucks posted the project link a couple of weeks ago. Not sure if it had a revised schedule then.

Sounds like it is more of a renovation than anything else - in other words, making it more quality than quantity.

Looks nice though. I think that is the future of sports stadiums. Have more amenities and comfort for the fans instead of trying to pack them in like sardines.
