We've averaged about 6k a season back when we were in the CAA and had other seasons in the 5600-5800 range even with losing records in the old CUSA 1.0 and no success.

Lebo and his D2/300+ RPI OOC schedules and talking down expectations constantly wet blankets any potiental attendance these days though.

He actually said we might not be favored in a conference game last summer. Way to get the season ticket base fired up aye.

Who can forget the gem from last season when asked his thoughts on the coaches picking ECU to finish 10th in the conference (and i'm paraphrasing). "After our practice yesterday, that's probably too high."

Way to sell your program coach!

Let's see.

We have our Battle-for-the-state powers like Campbell, UNCW, UNCA, and UNCG. If we add our rivalry game vs Limestone- I don't know how ECU can improve. I am baffled.

We were much higher against CUSA schedules but it took a lot of effort by Donny Jones to squeeze that much life out of our program.

Under Kirk Speraw, UCF's first two seasons in CUSA (2005-2006 and 2006-2007) AVERAGE attendance:

2,123

In 2007-2008, UCF opened up the UCF Arena and UCF enjoyed a nice bump up in attendance figures.

Donnie Jones's teams still hold almost all UCF Basketball Attendance records (season and single game), plus almost all top Div I-A regular season wins in the program's history.

The last 3 seasons under NCAA sanctions has crippled the program but it looks like UCF will begin to build back up their program this season...and the following season, etc...regardless who the HC is.

not only is Memphis not the worst AAC football program over the last 15 years...it's not even in the bottom 3.

Does bottom 4 make you feel better?

What was that? I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome we are....

aw your first conference championship ever and you think you're awesome. Congrats. If that makes you awesome, how awesome is back to back conference titles? Oh, would an outright title be even more awesome? LOL

We just got here, sunshine...we plan on getting comfy and enjoying the titles and championships Fuente will lead us to.

After the Larry Porter fiasco, there is nothing you can say that would make me feel bad about last season. 03-nerner

I notice that your list does not include the attendance averages for C-USA and the Sunbelt. What's the matter? Don't they fit your mantra that the AAC is no better than any other G5 conference? I would like for the AAC to be ranked higher, but I won't lose any sleep over having the having the 8th best average out of 37 Division 1 conferences.

I forgot about that one.

It only took about 3 minutes of research to realize most of the bottom of this conference was going to be really bad last year too. He's just full of passive aggressive comments towards his own program that keep expectations down so when we win a couple games people freak out with joy.

Last season hoop attendance averages:

23) Sunbelt: 2,009

Just so you will know (since you are obviously ignorant about the matter), 2014 was NOT the first conference football championship Memphis ever won. Several "major college" (equivalent to today's Division 1) conference championships were won in the late 60's and early 70's followed by 20 years as a "Southern Independent". Hard to win conference championships when you don't belong to one. Can't expect you to know much about all of that since it was mostly before UCF even fielded a football team.

I don't see anything wrong with that. They obviously put in a piss-poor practice and he's trying to motivate them. You can criticize lots of thing he says, but that's not one of them

Temple gives fans a great experience in terms of food, amenities and a growing student section. Serve beers on campus. But even with a huge new dorm across the street they can't fill it.

A lack of meaningful rivalries with AAC members hurts.

How about we give Donnie at least 2 years with a full scholarship levels. He already has wins against uconn #5, FLA #16, 2x against Miami, etc. That is much better than the great old days of Speraw. The players seem to love him so let's not screw it up. I'm pretty sure you want O'leary fired a few years back and we would have never had our BCS win.

It is better than speraw but this sounds like the usf logic of we beat some good teams a few times and got ranked once for a week a long time ago. Those wins don't mean anything if we don't reach the post season and start competing for conference and national titles. But I agree we should give donnie some time with full scholarships even though its his own fault we didn't have full scholarships
