cgcfields.com
You will probably see a few fields you recognize on their home page if you give it a minute to scroll thru their pictures. Wow! Great news!

RE: New Football Stadium Update
They did a good job today. Scott Carter is a good salesman. I really don't think there will be a bad view in that stadium, except perhaps the lowest seats. Learned that the facility maintenance building will be renovated to be the field house instead of building a new field house, which I think is a smart idea.
The only thing that I didn't like, which is picky, is that the bronze level seats will not have a back support. Seems like if you are going to put aluminum bleachers in the place, the least you could do is put a back on every one of them. I bought tickets in a higher level so it doesn't apply to me, but still seems like the cost of a aluminum back support would be minimal.
That grass bank is a bit steep...

Scott was on the radio with Bill Meade yesterday and talked a lot about how the stadium. I am also glad they are going to be able to use the maintenance building as the field house for awhile. They need the field house to be a separate project with naming rights and everything. Needs to be a show piece. Don't need to rush it.
I was also disappointed to hear the bronze weren't going to have backs but its not that big of a deal.
Glad to hear that the video board will be done in time.

No, from what he was saying during the tour the field house isnt going to be built. For this year the showers, etc will be in the dome and in future years they will be putting plumbing in there, use the lockers that they bought from BMS, and renovate the space to make that the field house. He said, and I agree, that this is a more productive use of university funds.

RE: New Football Stadium Update
Will there be a phase II as originally announced -- increasing seating to 10,000+? Is Phil Fulmer still around, still on payroll?

Right, the field house they had in that plan isnt going to be built but eventually, and maybe its 10 years down the road, they are going to want to build a new field house at that south end. The one in the plan just wasn't up to the standard you see now. I would imagine they are going to do a separate campaign for that.

Now that the field house is not in the scope I would imagine phase 2 has a good chance of moving forward next year. I think phase 2 is the end-zone seats and the concessions on both east and west south ends.
As for Phil who knows. I doubt it.

To be honest, unless we fill up the place and get multiple sell outs this year, I would guess that the end zone seats wont be built.

I was under the impression that they were pretty close awhile back to having funding complete for phase 2. If they have the money, they will build those seats. The obvious benefit being they can move the band and half the students there and have better seats to sell to the public.
I'm going to guess that the opener and homecoming game will be over 8k.

Hard to argue with that logic.
For those who have not taken the stadium tour, I urge you to do so (Scott Carter said more tours would be upcoming). Looking at the artist's renderings, or driving by and looking from the roadside, really can't convey just how nice the stadium is going to be.
It will be a showplace, and I'm hoping the University is going to go all-out to make the game-day atmosphere special. There is a lot of talent in the music department at ETSU. They need to be showcasing it in the concourses before and after games.

Looks like the drainage and base for the turf is going down. Starting to get pretty excited.

RE: New Football Stadium Update
In looking at the Mercer stadium -- it shows a capacity of 10,200 at a cost of $14 million. Can that be true, $14 million while the ETSU stadium with less seats and no field house is coming in at some $25 million? The difference?
