Dennis Dodd on Big 12 expansion: "There isn't anything real going on."
This morning Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports was interviewed on Honolulu's ESPN radio affiliate, KKEA-1420. Below are notes on some of his remarks, which are verbatim or close to it.

Regarding Big 12 expansion and Boren’s recent remarks:

- There isn’t anything real [relating to realignment] going on there [in the Big 12] or anywhere else.

- They [Oklahoma] make $25.2 million [from the Big 12 TV deal]. The conference could add two more teams, like Cincinnati and Memphis, and those teams would get comparable money, but that doesn’t help anybody else. The networks aren’t in the business of just giving out money.

- I don’t think anything happens. The GOR is legally binding and will be around for years to come. I think it’s still a long ways away.

Regarding BYU as a Big 12 expansion candidate:

- A few years ago the ADs kind of kicked the tires and it didn’t go anywhere.

Regarding Boise State as a Big 12 expansion candidate:

- A way-way poor man’s BYU. A state school that’s hard to get to. They have a brand, but BYU would get the call first.

Regarding whether any G5 school will contend for a playoff spot:

- Boise State will have a chance to go undefeated this year. The question is whether they could get in ahead of a one-loss P5 champion.
