I agree. It would be a total lack of character and personal integrity if he just wrote a memo or something to the Mavs. The Mavs committed and stood by DJ. It would be borderline cowardice if he didn't at least give them a face to face before he left.

thing is...Deandre committing last week essentially tied up all the $$ Dallas could spend in FA...if DJ leaves, Dallas is hosed

I would rather he stay in Dallas. He doesn't really move the needle for them, but he could be the difference between the Clippers winning 50 games or 55-57 games.

If he does decide to go back to LA I can only imagine what Cuban is going to do. First of which I'm guessing is going to be to make it possible to let guys sign their contracts instead of just verbally agreeing.

Yikes, he wouldn't return phone calls or texts. Just changed his mind and let Dallas find out in the media. Is Carl running the Clippers now?

Mavs most certainly have to tank the season now. Their top pick goes to Boston if it's below 7 pick and that's about all they can hope for

A man is only as good as his word. Deandre isn't worth ****.

This sets a bad precedent for future FA deals. Opens the door to the possibility of teams trying to screw each other over in FA - imagine the possibilities with the Lakers. Silver needs to address this before the start of the next FA period.

Shows a complete lack of class. At least give the Mavs the decency of telling them.
