TCU, at least in his opinion, was able to bridge that perception gap with the Rose Bowl win and this facilities/ budgets. You can argue that others have done the same, or you could argue that Tramel's preception is biased by the reality that TCU is in the Big 12 and now had success. Wouldn't argue with either point.

I know it is clearly biased. He failed to do basic research on the matter. And yeah TCU is there now, but his premise was actions leading up to an invite. And on that front, there have been a few schools investing heavily in facilities, winning games, winning BCS games, and happen to be in a strong recruiting area with a large TV footprint. I mean how does he ignore the 2014 Fiesta Bowl wins over a high powered Big XII school. And evev earlier wins involving Boise over traditional Big XII powers?

ECU does need to quit gagging every time we get in position to accomplish something great. Last year was a perfect example, but far from the first time it's happened, and it's part of the reason why ECU is where it is.

What got Louisville in was Maryland jumping to The Big Ten. If Delaney and Company hadn't invited The Terps to leave The ACC, Louisville still wouldn't be in.

Acting, performing or even succeeding "like a big time program" means squat. Half of the so-called Power 5 haven't acted like big time programs in decades. For programs like UCF, USF, Cincinnati, Memphis, ECU, UConn and Houston to scratch and claw for every dollar they get while some teams in the so-called Power 5 receive what amounts to a yearly welfare check is criminal.

What gets a program in? Luck? Circumstance? Networking? Ass Kissing? Who can say?

I will tell you that in Louisville's case we got lucky. Sure all the talking heads now point and say see what they did, see what Jurich built. The reality is The ACC went against every thing in it's DNA to invite Louisville over UConn. If The ACC acted like The ACC always did UConn would be in The ACC and Louisville would still be on the outside looking in.

I usually enjoy Berry Tramel's columns. He is way off base on this one.

UCF did all of that plus a new basketball arena. Where is the invite?

Gimme a break.

TCU was in a major conference for over 70yrs w/Arkansas, Texas, A&M, Baylor, etc. from 1923-1996. It's absurd to suggest that they faced the same struggles as other G5 schools.

This is like Donald Trump bragging about being a self made man because he was able to take the $100M he inherited from his dad and start a business with it.

What a joke.

Guess I hit a nerve, caused you to just start having diarrhea of the fingers?

There are two differences between UCF's stadium and Doak Campbell (fsu): 1 they have a brick facade over their aluminum stadium, 2 they're done building there's. Out of curiosity, have you ever actually attended a game at UCF?

Why would I ever attend a game at UCF? There are ways to see a stadium without attending a game.

Well you should check it out sometime you might enjoy the atmosphere as well as the stadium.

How loud does it get? Is it built to contain noise or is there a lot of noise loss?

It gets pretty loud. The stadium seems to contain noise fairly well.
Here's a field level sample. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7eMx6SVn_Yw
