It speaks of UAB, not USA. Concrete or steel? Hope you build soon.
I don't have a link or anything but I'm fairly certain our AD is on record saying it would be a permanent type structure and not an erector set type stadium. Looking at our other facilities, I imagine it would be quite nice.
Yeep... USA doesn't half-ass any infrastructure based project.
I'd rather stay at Ladd than build a stadium like FIU's.
That's the silliest thing I've ever heard in my life.

Congrats to USA! Also, take note and don't renovate a MLB stadium

Actually I'd rather wait to get a Texas State style stadium done properly, than to have some flimsy erector set stadium like FIU's. Remember, whatever stadium gets built will be what were stuck with for a loooong time.
Looks like USA feels the same way.

I think that, barring some sort of agreement with us joining another conference, that we are 5 years away from a completed stadium.
I have no specific info on that.

My guess is the 2019 season at the latest.

Did you ever hear any estimates on this?
Yep. $75,000,000 total. Debt service for $60,000,000 of that amount. Projected operating revenue ranged from $5,782,723 in the first year to $6,875,635 in the 10th year. The ticket revenue portion was based on season ticket sales of 7,272 and single-game ticket sales of 16,060.
27 individuals and corporations made the five-year, $100,000 commitments for suites.
So 23,332 PAID attendance was used for the ticket revenue ... good luck with that. That's not including students and comps.
And UAb only hit that number a handful of times over their first 20 years of existence.
Well when you play in a dump and your board is actively trying to keep you from suceeding it not a surpise attendance would suffer. They get a new real on campus football stadium where your are not worried about getting tetanus things may improve, especially with decent taligating areas and luxury suites.
I am just glad based on twitter comments both USA and UAB planning on building stadiums seems to piss off weak minded Alabama fans. For all that they have accomplished I have never seen a more dellusional, paranoid and thin skinned fan base in my life. They literally are unable to enjoy what their football team has accomplished. Short of winning a NC they are pretty miserable and are more consumed with what people think of them and trying to tear others like UAB down instead of just living the good life on top of the college football world. I deal with idiot uga fans all the time but Alabama fans are on a different level. I think the fact the state of GA has the big three pro sports it tempers the life or death mentallity of some SEC fans have in state with no professional sports especially pro football. Falcons may suck but a GT fan is just as likely to be a die hard Falcon fan as a uga fan would be.

Great news, I'm happy for South Alabama. New program with tons of potential, having your own stadium will only be a godsend to your program and our conference. Good job, now get it built.
