OT: Thank Safety Upgrades to protect Drivers in Wild Daytona finish !

I was curious to see Whom won the race at Daytona early this morning and watched this incredible finish from 2;45 am. Thank god for the Safety upgrades to Cars and Track. A few years ago This would have been a fatal crash !
Congrats to Dale Jr for the Win. Very similar to 2001 when His Dad lost His life also in #3.

I knew when it happened I had just watched a second driver die in a last lap crash at Daytona driving the #3 car. Amazing he walked away from that wreck, although it was cool to see him doing the Lane Frost wave.

cool, now that cars are safer, drivers can go even faster and take more risks.

Nothing but minor injuries, NASCAR has worked hard on driver and fan safety over the years, specially this year. Daytona is a ISC track as well so its not just NASCAR at blame for any lack of safety.

It is my understanding that those seats won't be available once Daytona's renovations are completed. Newer tracks, such as Kentucky Speedway, have an accesses valley there between the track and the fans for service vehicles to keep fans at a safer distance from the track.

Pretty impressive engineering that cars going that fast, that close, and crashing that hard didn't kill anyone.

Having said that, I think NHRA races are probably better to attend. Pit crew rebuilding engines between runs is pretty impressive.

NASCAR could do the same if the rules allowed.
