Completely OT: your five favorite TV shows of all time.
We could use an OT thread like this. My all-time favorites:

1) The Twilight Zone (1959-64)
2) The Rockford Files (1974-80)
3) Star Trek (1966-69)
4) Hawaii Five-0 (1968-80)
5) The Bob Newhart Show (1972-78)

I feel so old ...

The only relatively recent shows I considered were Seinfeld and Frasier. I don't watch TV anymore (except for news & sports), so I couldn't include any current shows.

I actually liked the show Psych(2006-2014) mainly the first 5 or 6 years. The last year or so wasn't as good. I liked Cheers and Night Court. Like you, I don't watch much tv anymore except news and sports(which also has decreased). Working nights, there is not much to watch when I get home. This is why I got rid of cable and only have internet w/ Netflix.

Thats an excellent list. I would add the following two shows in which I never tire of watching:

1. Are you being served?
2. The 3 Stooges

When I was a kid I hated the Stooges. I thought they were stupid. Now I see their genius.

I don't watch as much TV as I did when I was younger. So my list is generally pretty old and has some similarities to yours (and yours I didn't list are honorable mention):
1) Star Trek
2) Magnum PI
3) The Bob Newhart Show
4) MASH
5) Battlestar Galatica (2004-2009 version)

That's classic comedy for a 35-40 yr old. Andy Griffith is the only one I could watch in that group. I've seen the others n I didn't care for them. Only my opinion.

I cant limit it to just 5

Dukes of Hazzard
A-Team
Seinfeld
Archie Bunker
Cheers
Al Bundy
Dallas
Andy Griffith

Got a few others that I don't consider "favorites" but still like on classic TV channels - WKRP, Barney Miller, Emergency, CHIPS, Stooges

Now a days, the only shows I watch with any regularity are Criminal Minds, Duck Dynasty, Naked & Afraid and Hillbilly Blood

I'll go with Seinfeld, Cheers, Saturday Night Live (although there were a lot of duds in its 40-plus years), Mary Tyler Moore and Hill Street Blues. Among newer shows, I like to binge on Mad Men, Psych, Justified and Murder in Paradise.

I can't think of five. The last show I watched with any regularity was Law and Order when Michael Moriarty was on it. Part of it may have been that I've often travelled so extensively on business, and to places outside the states where US television shows simply weren't on. But part of it is also that the shows pretty much suck. I probably watch something like EPL football (soccer) more regularly than any US television show.

We watch EPL every Saturday morning. Our team is Man City, just because my son played club soccer for six years and his team wore light blue uniforms. We don't like Liverpool; they were the dirtiest team we saw in DFW youth soccer.

No way I could only list five:

Twilight Zone
Star Trek
Star Trek TNG
Star Trek DS9
Home Improvement (because me and my parents would ALWAYS watch it after family dinner)
Battlestar Galactica (remake)
House of Cards (remake)
MASH
I Love Lucy
Firefly

My generation also had the best kids shows: Ren and Stimpy, Rug Rats, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Pete and Pete, All That, Doug, Salute Your Shorts, Hey Dude, etc

My first few trips to London, I stayed in a hotel in the west end, not far from Stamford Bridge, liked the area, and became a Chelsea fan back when they were terrible. The last few years have been fun. Although it was tough to watch the Champions Cup final when Chelsea won and in the process eliminated Tottenham, because my son is a huge Tottenham fan. Don't know why he is, I actually had a huge client in the Enfield area for years, but I'm not aware of any connection he has to the team or area.

Good to see I am not the only one that likes Psych. I have never seen Murder in Paradise. Maybe I will have to check it out.

RE: Completely OT: your five favorite TV shows of all time.
in no particular order and sums up how long it's been since I've found anything worth watching on the major networks....

the tonight show with Johnny Carson
all in the family
sanford and son
seinfeld
saturday night live - belushi through eddie murphy years

next five:

wkrp in cincinnati
hogan's heroes
cheers
the jeffersons
gilligan's island

it's strange....I never could get into mash....

to toss out an added twist on the subject.....my 5 most despised:

hee-haw
grand ole opry
rosanne
i love lucy
laverne and shirley

next five I despised:

leave it to beaver
my three sons
the flying nun
captain kangaroo
petticoat junction

needless to say, I gave up sitcom/drama viewing many moons ago....
