RE: Discover Las Cruces, NM
I can't hear the name Las Cruces without thinking back to 1976. I was returning from a goofing off trip to see the west coast for the first time and found myself driving across the desert in southern New Mexico. It was nearing midnight, I was getting really tired, and it seemed like the whole world was pitch black.

I topped a hill and BAM, there it was in all its glory.......Las Cruces.

I understand the video. If you've driven across West Texas, Las Cruces probably looks like the Garden of Eden.

Ha, all I recall from my trip to Las Cruses was a football loss, stadium lights shutting down before the vast bulk of the crowd could complete exiting, and an all night launder mat. I did however; prefer it it Albuquerque. Enjoyed the balloon races, saw one run into a high voltage tower, saw the mountain top Shirley McClain was stopped from building on because of environmentalist fervor, and of course Roswell, Santa Fe was fun. Great state NM, USA.

Cruces is an awesome city . . the wife and I always eat at La Posta in Old Mesilla . . good food . . then some Fudge and Coffee out on the Square . . then she spends some money on Jewelry at one of the Stores on the Square.

Sitting in Aggie Memorial and looking out at the Organ Mountains is so cool. Kicking the chit out of them on the Football field is even better . . 05-stirthepot

I want NMSU in the SBC for all sports . . Go Aggies . . Go SBC !! 04-cheers

When we started our plan to move from Austin we had it down to Las Cruces and Corpus Christi. Love both the Ocean (ok Gulf but we grew near the ocean) and Mountains. (major camper here)

The Ocean (CC) won out but I would have been just as fine with Las Cruces. Never been but hope to one day.

I would really enjoy if NMSU was in the SBC for all sports! However, I'm not sure if we would still travel so well if the Basketball tournament was in Louisana. That's the only think the really scares me about the SBC but everything else is great. I believe NMSU could really flourish in the SBC.

My travel budget doesn't allow me to travel that far. Lame.

Actually i was born in Las Cruces, and lived there for about a year. Great city, been back a few times, especially La Posta!

Danny Gamboa's Casa de Autos can work with anyone's travel budget!

Don't worry about traveling well to the SBC basketball tournament, Benson blames UL and ULM for lack of attendance anyway. Your fifty to two hundred fans will absolutely feel like a majority at most games.

Very nice! I'm looking forward to the trip.

I'm not a Troy fan because of wins and losses.

I hear App State might even budget to travel to the basketball tourney this year .. if they qualify.

Then again after seeing the team they had last year, qualifying for the tourney would be a monumental accomplishment.

I would love to have NMSU basketball back in the Belt. Cajuns and Aggies was always a good, entertaining series. Good brand of basketball from both programs.

You do realize we finished sixth in conference right? Two spots below you, and clearly would've been in the tournament had we been eligible?

There are plenty other teams in the conference that you could've made that crack about, I don't know why you'd pick us.
