I am the farthest thing from the groupthink here. This guy loves to take the bot/watts position on everything. I asked legit questions, that he(pro Bama) has not legitimately answered. I'm sure the delayed response is based off of what watts wants him to say publicly.

Joseph Goebbels would love your approach. Keep saying how I have always defended the BOT and Watts and perhaps those who don't read my posts will believe the lie. I have NEVER justified the actions of the BOT or the Watts administration in regard to UAB athletics - just the opposite. In fact, in this thread I pointed out that the Bama programs have always had the support of the BOT but that UAB's has not. UAB has had to fight the UA administration for every program since it was founded.

Why would I be directing this toward you?

OK, since you're the Judge and Jury here, I'd be happy to answer your questions to the best of my ability.

Did they start with Bryant Denny as their stadium? I guess, with probably about 1.500 people capacity. Was it paid for in cash? I don't know. How about every damn thing the athletic department has? I don't know. The reason we got a soccer stadium is because they aren't playing soccer at the d1 level anytime soon, title IX. Why are you always so quick to defend them? I don't know what you mean. I said they had a lot of donors, and was happy that their band had a nice field. If that's defending them, ok This isn't about what Alabama has or doesn't have, it's about the route they took to get there. How many boosters have not been allowed to lay turf at Alabama? I don't know. How many coaches have they not been allowed to hire? I don't know. Let us do our thing, and I don't give a damn about Bama. Exactly, which is the point of my post, which was good for them, let's go to work and get good stuff like this for ourselves. You listen to those crimson arguments, but you are never quick to defend us, or ask relevant questions on our behalf. Defend us to who and ask relevant questions to who? Like countless others, I've made my financial commitment, and written several checks to the University and for others working hard to get our sports reinstated. I'm not field preaching to anyone.

What are you so angry about, man?

Is this an ok response, My Lord and Master, The Most Honorable President Watts? (Who incidentally I think is really Memphis Blazer, but don't tell anyone).

I'm angry because you defend the board and watts at every turn. No athletic department in the country operates on cash in hand, yet we are expected to, and you are okay with it. You kept telling us to get money in the bank while all this nonsense was going on, it's kind of hard to do when there is no account to put it in. You keep saying good for Alabama got this and that, and that's all fine and well, but when we aren't allowed to operate within the same guidelines, it's a joke to me. I don't understand how you can call yourself a UAB fan and ignore everything that has been done to hold us back over the years.

You should defend us when you talk to all your insiders at Bama. When they tell you we need cash in hand, ask why. When they tell you we can't finance anything, ask why. Instead you come on this board and say we have to do this and that because those guys in Tuscaloosa say so.

*just so we are clear bbf, this is not directed at you.

I'm just curious how it is that I know dozens of posters here on a first-name basis even though I'm not all that social yet no one here seems to know this guy while he's totally wired in to the Trustees and the UAT Alumni Board and David Sher and old bats in Vestavia Hills who hate UAB and etc. and etc.

RE: Butler Field
OK, don't invite me to your birthday party then.

You don't know anything about my conversations with anyone, or what those conversations entail, and it is really none of your business. I would point out, just for those on this board who I do respect and have worked with to try and produce positive results, that I have at every turn and every conversation supported nothing less than autonomy athletically and academically for UAB. The fact that it is not probable in 2015 doesn't mean I'm not for it, and haven't been vocal in conversation with those I know, and in letters to those I don't, including Chancellor Witt, Governor Bentley, Senator Sessions and others.

I sincerely wish you would channel your considerable energy into working to build on what we have at UAB instead of spewing hate everywhere else. In my opinion at this juncture it is pointless, and as a community we have far too many more important issues to address.

I hope you have exactly the flavor of ice cream you want at your birthday party, and it is exactly the same as rich kid down the street. If not, I fear there will be hell to pay.

Has our fanbase grown so small that unless you are known on a first name basis by everyone, you are a suspected spy?

I apologize to 9911 and any other fans I might have offended. Perhaps MB is right, I did overdo the BBQ and diet sodas. Maybe I am becoming paranoid in my old age, but pronouns without antecedents and general "this guy" references can be misinterpreted. Again, mea culpa.

Okay put on your gloves, in this corner Blazer, in that corner Blazer, if we fight each other, win lose or draw, Watts and the BOT wins, and I like the field , wish we had one to practice football on not just for the band.

Trust no one! Rejecting any outsiders and requiring the wholesale acceptance of manufactured dogma within the narrowest of standards is the PERFECT way to build a fan base!!! (Blue font?)

It's no problem at all. I just wasn't sure what made you think any of that would be directed toward you. You haven't written anything of that nature as long as I've been on this board.
