If he wanted to do something positive, he'd drop the "Bubba."

Not related to this event at all, but Bubba is my least favorite golfer of all time. He has one of those punchable faces.

Damn, I'd have bought the thing off him for pennies on the dollar. I've always wanted a General Lee & a black Trans Am.

that makes sense (not being related...) eliminating the flag had zero to do with the black church members being killed

it's pathetically ironic the flag issue has received more coverage than the slaughtering....

and bubba is a crybay wuss.....anyone that buttons their polo up to the top deserves to be punched.....

interesting caveat.....if he feels so strongly about removing the flag from the car, why didn't he remove it after buying the car?

fk the media and the turds that play in the sandbox of silliness....

RE: Golfer Bubba Watson to remove battle flag from his original 'General Lee'
I've gone to Masters practice rounds the last two years, ended up with a bunch of Bubba's buddies who were following him in 2014, there was crap flying back and forth between him and them all the way around, it was a blast. Was not a fan of his before then, but am now. And this is the right move on his part. Good for him.

He has a reputation for being disliked by some on tour, but I know he is good friends with Rickie Fowler, whom I know slightly and know to be a super, super guy, so I'll just follow Obama's advice and judge him by the company he keeps.

Again, I applaud the move. The battle flag was right for General Lee in the 70s. Old Glory is right now.

The left will never let an opportunity go to waste: nine people slaughtered? Let's change the focus to something we've hated for 150 years ... the Confederate battle flag.

Next month, a drunk driver will hit a gas pump and blow up several people. Then the left will try to shut down the oil companies.

They're tenacious and pernicious.

RE: Golfer Bubba Watson to remove battle flag from his original 'General Lee'
I actually DISAGREE with this.

In this particular case...

The Confederate Flag on the top of the G'l Lee wasn't put there as some sort of call for segregation or slavery or racism, but rather as a pretty pathetic attempt to portray ... "What Hollywood thinks gearheads in the Rural South do".

Original motivation matters. In this case, the intent of the flag use was harmless, and if anything, more geared towards mockery of the South than anything else.

And I'm pretty much on the 'the flag has got to come down most places' side.

Its his car, and I certainly wouldn't drive it anywhere, but if I did own it, I'd leave it as is.

I can assure you, I never gave racism/confederate flag a moments thought when that show aired.....that show was so silly stupid it was funny....it was truly representative of the harmless lunacy displayed whilst livin' amongst missippy 'necks....over time ya tend to grow fond of 'em 03-wink

I've never flown a flag of any kind.....however now, I'm going to at least add confederate jasmine to the landscape and use it moving forward in my not so subliminal rhetoric...

I don't see color....I only see whiny self/outside inflicted neglect or will to persevere....I don't befriend nor prescribe to the thoughts of the former....and that's what I see bubba doin' now as the media cracks the whimpering will(ow)

I imagine Watson's decision and announcement of it has everything to do with business, and nothing to do with deeply held beliefs.
