Is this the same great Niagara program that won 8 games last year and 7 games the year before?
That is Keener-esque

RE: Ramone Snowden
Leaving the metro for the CAA is a big step down, but these quotes are not exactly endorsements, and it appears this guy did not have the academics to qualify at ODU?

No uptick going to JM! Bad decision on this man and his family's part!
After all the trauma by many re the upcoming NU roster this season, all looks promising!
And yes, I support LE 100%!
No response is required or necessary!!!

Good luck to this young man.
A player like this is totally replaceable and wont be missed. All that is important is it works out for him personally and his family!

T.J Cline left Niagara to attend UR and that worked out well for both.
Green and Tankersley left Niagara to attend Hofstra and they worked out well for both guys and Hofstra
Hopefully Snowden works out for us. Van Snowdon was a good Duke under Lou.

RE: Ramone Snowden
Nice article 84. Happy to have him aboard. Sounds like he could be a nice addition. Heck, here is what his former coach said about him:
Snowden is as impressive off the court as he is on it. He’s a fixture on campus and Casey said he’s one of the team’s hardest workers academically.
Well-spoken and attentive, Casey praised his real-world potential.
“He’s a very good basketball player and he’s a better person,” Casey said. “He’s an outstanding young man and he’s going to be a success in life because of his actions and his character.”
Its disappointing that other "fans" are hoping for academic issues and are tearing him down before he even steps foot on the court.

Since when was leaving the Metro for the CAA a "big step down"? Curious as to why anyone would think that.

MAAC was clearly better power rated than the CAA in 2013/2014 by reasonably big margins (Sagarin or Kenpom). CAA nipped them by a nose 18th/19th this season.

RE: Ramone Snowden
This is a very limited take, seen him play several times in HS and only once playing D1. Snowden is a solid player. He's a strong player, not the most athletic. What he does do is finish in traffic about as well as any. After his freshman year in HS he was rated a Top-5 recruit, relying on his strength around the rim to over power the smaller players. He didn't develop his offensive game as much as the recruiting services and coaces thought he should of. He's scrappy, will work hard and give you 100%. The down side, is he's a tweener. Too small to play forward and he isn't a guard. Should be fun to watch.

Obviously the CAA isn't what it used to be but most years they are on par or better than the MAAC. Inside of college basketball the CAA is viewed as having better talent and size than the MAAC. It's why top 25 programs regularly mine the CAA for transfers (Cooke, Lee, Bryant being offered by BCS schools) and why the MAAC's elite program Iona gave a scholarship to a CAA also ran big man in Bessick. The CAA is a small step up in my opinion but one that Snowden will be unaffected by.
