Maybe they are scared to play us. Look what we did to do them in baseball.

In 2015, Rice was 2-2 on the season with UH, and the last two of those games were 1-run games. Even among Coogs, I doubt that result instills fear.

Over the last 20 years, the coogs should be scared. Not so much the last 2, however. I vote for re-instilling fear!

Three on the road to open conference will be tough. The away games travel might be a bit easier this year. Four out of the last six at home is nice.

Fortunately for the players, those three road games are all before classes start.

Not so fortunately, the last two road games are the week before spring break (typically a tough week academically), while the last two home games are during spring break (not so good for attendance). But the stars cannot always align.

RE: WBB and MBB
Anyone know if there is any significance to the location of the January 16, 2016, game versus Marshall being shown as Houston, Texas vs. Tudor Fieldhouse as are all the other home games?

A simple mistake or indicative the game will not be at Tudor?

RE: WBB and MBB
Since this thread was originally for the men and women, to be fair let's post the women's conference schedule
01/01/16 vs. UTEP * Tudor Fieldhouse TBA
01/03/16 vs. UTSA * Tudor Fieldhouse TBA
01/09/16 vs. North Texas * Tudor Fieldhouse TBA
01/14/16 at Western Kentucky * Bowling Green, KY TBA
01/16/16 at Marshall * Huntington, WV TBA
01/21/16 vs. UAB * Tudor Fieldhouse TBA
01/23/16 vs. Middle Tennessee * Tudor Fieldhouse TBA
01/30/16 at North Texas * Denton, Texas TBA
02/04/16 at Louisiana Tech * Ruston, LA TBA
02/06/16 at Southern Miss * Hattiesburg, MS TBA
02/11/16 vs. Charlotte * Tudor Fieldhouse TBA
02/13/16 vs. Old Dominion * Tudor Fieldhouse TBA
02/18/16 at Florida Atlantic * Boca Raton, FL TBA
02/20/16 at FIU * Miami, FL TBA
02/25/16 vs. Southern Miss * Tudor Fieldhouse TBA
02/27/16 vs. Louisiana Tech * Tudor Fieldhouse TBA
03/03/16 at Charlotte * Charlotte, NC TBA
03/05/16 at Old Dominion * Norfolk, VA TBA

The non-conference schedule hasn't been released yet but looking at some possible opponents, I see we will host Texas on Nov. 21st, host Houston on December 5th, and travel to Baylor on Dec. 2nd and travel to Sam Houston State on Dec. 17th.

Seems to be a tough schedule for the new coach. Especially because I'd say CUSA women's hoops is decidedly tougher than the men in comparison. But I do think Greg Williams left Tina Langley with a pretty solid recruiting class and we have a few returnees who were among the better players on the team last year.

WBB's OOC is a big step up in competition but I like what Langley has done.

The Kentucky game is interesting. We don't have anyone with Kentucky ties on our roster, and they don't have anyone from Texas either (but maybe they're starting to recruit more in Texas - I know they recruit Texas in volleyball). I suspect we'll see some more commitments in both men's and women's basketball over the next month or so.

Anyone have rumors on men's recruiting? I think we are in a dead period but checking the sites it looks like we've targeted several more 4* but interest is low.

Here are his H.S. stats: http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/harrison...-stats.htm

He's listed as a sophomore, but this past May he signed an LOI to play at DIII Dickinson.
