RE: NASCAR Fans: Would you boycott over the CSA battle flag?

I would imagine a "Trade your Stars and Bars for a NASCAR flag" promotion would go over pretty well with most.....
I would think that with all the discussion about the Confederate Battle Flag people would at least get their flags straight! The "Stars and Bars" is not the battle flag! The battle flag is the St. Andrews Cross design with 13 stars. The "Stars and Bars" is the First National Flag of the Confederacy. It is a completely different flag!

Boycott? You really have no understanding of these people at all. The last thing they will do is not show up. Instead they will draw more people who will bring their flags anyway. The first guy that tries to "take" a flag away from someone will end up in the hospital.

If they outright ban any CSA flag, taking away our freedom of speech and expression, I will stop watching NASCAR all together. NASCAR wants to forget where they came from, problem with that is that NASCAR was founded by rebels of the man. Moonshine runners of the hills and Kentucky marijuana growers.
Are you aware of the strong Union sentiment in the mountains during the Civil War? Who exactly was growing pot in the 40s and 50s?
