What a nice young man. (When you're my age, everyone is young)
We're still recruiting and will possibly add one more to this class. He mentioned a possible transfer, but I don't think it would be prudent to mention any names at this time. Summer school begins July 6th, so they hope to get him in here if they can sign him. We're also looking at several players, and two from Arkansas.
I specifically asked him how Stetson was doing, and he was very positive.
Said Stetson had a very high motor, the redshirt year really helped him mature, and said the staff is looking for great things from him the next two years. I hope he's right. Anyway, I was very impressed with his friendliness and attitude and enthusiasm for the program. Chasse made a very good decision in hiring Coach Beard.
I told him about Mr. Basketball, and how he had been singing Coach Beard's praises since he was hired, and he jokingly said it was his mother. I imagine he knew who it was, but didn't say. Coach Beard played basketball at a high school in Houston, and then moved to Dallas and played at Dallas Irving High. I would suppose Mr. Basketball was his teammate at one of those schools.
Glad to see LRTrojan was able to make it out. Also saw MJS, Mrs. RBL (I didn't see Bob) and others. It was a very nice event. Good to see Trojan fans excited about our program.
