Article: New Temple deputy AD could aid in Stadium bid
http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/coll...m_bid.html
It looks like we are putting the building blocks in place for a stadium bid it seems.
This article talks about a new hire that has experience in the area of stadium building. During his time at FAU he got a new 30k stadium built for them.
Also in the news but not linked here was a radio interview last week in which the TU football coach was asked about playing in an NFL stadium. His answer was that he hopes that he can get the on campus stadium. It would do wonders for the program.

If you're going to build a stadium, now's the time to do it. With interest rates at historic lows, Temple could easily float a tax-exempt bond, paying off the debt over 20-30 years.

Muni bond rates were at historic lows until Chicago bonds were downgraded to "junk" status, and Puerto Rico bonds became toilet paper after its Governor said that the Commonwealth could not pay to creditors $70 billion in municipal bond debt. Do you think City of Philadelphia credit is good? Or bonds issued against the football revenue of Temple? Ask your friendly muni bond trader. It won't take long for you to have your answer.

The issuer will most likely be a state authority that issues bonds on behalf of Pennsylvania educational institutions or the local authority that issued bonds for the construction of Lincoln Field and Citizens Bank Park.

It took FAU 10 years from announcing plans for a stadium to playing their first game in the said stadium. It that is the timeline you want, he is definitely the man for the job.
Also FAU has gotten more donations since he was replaced, he never raised any money at FIU either.

Doesn't Howard Smellyburger get most of the credit for getting the stadium built anyhow?

Yup, I'm surprised he is publicly taking credit for it.
