Where can I make that bet? That is ridiculous. I'd put my son's college savings on that line.

It's down to -37 now. Jump on it while you can. It should drop like a rock.

Wow. Unfortunately, not sure I would expect such a negligent site to give you your money when you win... That line equates to a moneyline of about +9000 for GSU (bet $100 to win $9,000).

To hell with Vegas. From what I've seen on the WVU board, you could easily find a couple dozen guys who would be glad to ONLY give up 38 points on a bet against GS.

Bet Marshall would beat us by 138. Just ask 'em.

Hamrick, Marshall’s veteran director of athletics, has heard little but backlash from much of the Herd fan base in the aftermath of last week’s announcement of a signed home-and-home football series with Appalachian State.

He said the notion that Marshall would work a home-and-home deal (for the 2021 and 2022 seasons) with a program that isn’t competitive isn’t fair to his alma mater and a football program in which he once played — much less Appalachian State.

Hamrick said the disgruntlement is as misguided as the notion expressed by some Herd fans … that ASU is a Southern Conference program, “so why would we play a home-and-home with someone below us (in the FCS)?”

They know we're FBS. Good grief. Unless they're more stupid than I thought. They just want some winnable games. We've owned them.

As for the rest of our fans.....

I think most are upset with this series BECAUSE we are in CUSA. We are already getting bashed for our schedule. A lot of our fans want 4 P5s for OOC. Well, when we demand 1-1s, thats just really hard to do imo.

In the end, I would much rather play southern teams as opposed to the MAC teams (besides Ohio and Toledo.) I hope we slowly stop scheduling all other MAC teams, and start scheduling more Sun Belt teams in their place.

I would MUCH rather be in a conference with App or Ga Southern as opposed to Charlotte or ANY of the TX schools. I respect most of the TX schools, but TX might as well be Europe to me, I'm not able to go to the games and don't know anyone who goes or has gone to those schools.
Don't like to travel, eh?

Here, let me help you out with a few names from TXST:
Lyndon Baines Johnson (politician, I think)
George Strait - C&W singer (you might have heard of him)
Randy Rogers (another blase singer)
Ponce Cruse Evans aka Heloise (wrote something or other, routinely)
Powers Boothe (been in a movie or two and possibly TV)
Ricky Sanders (some football player that they called part of a Posse)
Charles Austin (jumped over a bar at various heights, holds some Olympic record or other)
Paul Goldschmidt (hits a round ball with a round stick for a snake team)

Point is, you probably do know people that went to TX schools; just not personally. You just have to do a little research.

Yea..a friggin' President graduated from Texas State. What other FBS schools count a President as an undergraduate alumni?

Navy (Carter)
Michigan (Ford)
Army (Eisenhower, Garfield)
Stanford (Hoover)
Miami of Ohio (B. Harrison)
North Carolina (Polk)
TEXAS STATE (L.B. Johnson)

Half of an answer to a trivia question "Name the four schools to produce both a president and a Super Bowl winning QB."

We beat WVU by more than one score. Been saying it for months. That book is going to lose a ish load of money. My bookie not offering anything with the GSU-WVU game yet. Smart guy.

Remember, this is Marshall you're talking about. The same fanbase Lee Corso called out during a game on national TV way back when they first went I-A for their BS. To paraphrase, he basically said they complained nobody respected them but at same time didn't want to give it to anyone else.

When App was shopping for a FBS home CUSA and even some Sunbelt schools made a big deal that Boone was too far, too remote and too hard to get to. Now that we are having success in scheduling App is said to have an advantage because we're located CLOSE to so many FBS programs.

On this point you have to rem. That alot of money over the past 10 years has been dedicated and continues to be towards easier access to boone i.e. 421 now 4 lanes and 321 being made fully 4 lanes

This is my favorite quote:
Quote:“There are reasons we have a hard time getting games,” the Herd AD said. “We’re so good at home no one wants to come here (an .845 percentage at Edwards Stadium trails only an .846 by Georgia Southern among FBS teams that have played more than one season in their stadium).

For us to have that home record after 20 years at the 1A level, that is more impressive then GSU record after 1 year

Those are all-time records that includes both of our time in FCS. After the first year we can say we've never lost at home at the FBS level.

Our stadium 5 years at the 1AA level 20 years at the 1A level.....still more impressive

The only thing impressive about Marshall fans is their egos, or perhaps their insecurity complex. Worried about going to an FCS school that does not exist is comical, being FBS since 97 is comical as well, too short a time period to be dissing others, this will be year 18 FBS.

Lol. Well I got a warning for pointing out that utep is an all time losing program with 2 conference titles in 100 years. Apparently they don't like hearing about that.

A chance yes. We lost the O line but got two transfers. Our back ups saw plenty of time with six 20 point + wins. So hopefully it works out. Our D should be better than last year. All our playmakers on offense are back with great depth. We will probably need some breaks to win.

GS will be the underdog, but I don't think it should be a huge point spread, Vegas will disagree, but it would be disappointing if they lost by more than 10. I think that because of the offense that GS runs, it will eat up a lot of the clock and keep their defense off the field. When you look at WV, overall they have better athletes and skilled players than GS, but, we aren't talking about Alabama here, a typical season for WV is to finish between 20-25 in the polls. I think this is a winnable game for GS, if we are going to have an upset in the first week, this might be it.

they also lost their star qb and stud wr. their fans have admitted their DL is weak, and they get killed by any kind of good inside run game.

a lot of interested storylines going into this game.
