Probably the closest type of deal that could lure him away from Ky. Personnel control would be a helluva thing to have...especially for a guy who values control like Cal.

Pastner better save a scholly for Skal in case this happens.

I'm guessing Cal is just angling for a raise at UK. Can't imagine a job like Sacramento would interest him. Now give Cal that scenario at Cleveland & it might be serious.

Doubt it will be about $$. Primarily ego. It'll all boil down to whether Cal thinks he can be successful in the NBA this time.

Important info on @WojYahooNBA story on Calipari - Kings. The 2 sides have talked for weeks and Kings understand it'll take 10 mil a year.

Given how much that actually means anything 03-wink ... why would he want to go to Sacramento? I mean, Sacramento? It's not the glitziest of places.

The raise doesn't have to be salary, but Cal is angling for something - maybe just not additional salary now but surely not a job at Sacramento, IMO.

RE: Sacramento Kings talking with John Calipari
this is what he posted on facebook apparently. He always has an explanation.

John Calipari

For the 100th time, I have the best basketball coaching position in the world. I am not looking for any other coaching position. Since he bought the team, Vivek Ranadive and I have talked on and off about DeMarcus Cousins. Vivek has asked me what I thought about DeMarcus and I told him he would be an all-star, and I was right. In the last two weeks, we’ve also talked a bunch about the draft and on draft day, obviously because of Willie Cauley-Stein. At no time has Vivek offered me a job. I WILL BE AT KENTUCKY.

RE: Sacramento Kings talking with John Calipari
Well considering that they are giving him both GM and HC and a base of $10M per year probably equals way more with incentives. Plus you consider the fact that Lebron is talking about moving on already and his relationship with X, you could be looking at KY needing a lot of couches to burn. Sacramento has lots of money with new ownership, way more than KY. Plus isn't it odd that this deal comes about at the same time as Lebron makes his feelings about management at Cleveland be known publicly?

Plus if Easterwood is saying the deal is done you gotta give him credit for knowing way more about such goings on.

If Easterwood says the deal is done... then I will change my opinion.
