The sun on the home side for the Purdue and UCLA games was pretty bad, too.

When I first started driving in HS I paid $0.199/gal for gasoline that I didn't have to get out of the car to pump plus someone, often times not the one pumping the gas, cleaned my windows and checked my oil level and tire pressure. And if you purchased at least 8 gallons, you got a free drinking glass, dish, stamps, etc.

Of course, my first HS job paid $1.60/hr minimum wage.

When I went to Rice, mugs of Lone Star were 35 cents and pitchers were $1.75 at Kays. Cigarettes were 50 cents a pack in the machines. Tuition was $2,100 a year.

You were well after my time then. Cigarettes were 30 cents in the vending machine, and tuition was zero. beer prices were close, though.
