SB Nation predicts Kosta back
$15M deal over 2 years

Obviously, this is just a prediction...but that's not totally unreasonable.

I'd like that. Hopefully he would also.

If my boss tripled my salary I would like it as well.

They also predicted Brandan Wright to get a 1 year $5M deal. If we could nab him for $2.5M less than Kosta, I would strongly consider it. Especially on a multi-year deal.

He'd bring some athleticism to the front court and save us money...money that can be spent on a shooter maybe!

If Koufus takes that deal either (a) he has a horrible agent or (b) he must really love Memphis. Koufus could get starter money for a longer deal than 2 years. Maybe the market is drying up for Centers (and we are trying to max Gasol?)

Maybe...but I don't see Kosta getting "starter money". That's $9-10M per year, minimum.

Pau makes $7.5 million.

He would be wise to sign a one year deal. He would also be better off signing that deal with another team that will play him more minutes.

Pau makes $7.5 million.

A) Pau is a PF
B) He has made $160M in his career - different story. He wanted to take less and start for a contender.

Starting centers on their 2nd contract make $6M minimum but those deals were made a few years ago. The new going price for a low-end starting center (via FA) will be $9M-$10M. You have to find a team with that kind of cap...in need of a center...willing to spend it on Kosta Koufos.

It's possible, but I just don't see it.
