Unlikely to happen though but interesting nevertheless.

Green, Lee, Barnes, and Stokes for Joe Johnson?

I'll pass...

Jeff Green alone was just as good as Johnson last year...

Johnson is a better shooter but he's about $12M overpaid. Interesting though to at least see the wheels are moving.

Agreed.

Obviously we are looking for a wing upgrade.

If we could land Johnson without having to give up THAT much, I'd love it. He's clutch and playoff tested. Let's get a 3rd team involved...

Conley
Allen
Johnson
Randolph
Gasol

That's a legit contender starting 5...

Here was the discussion:

Nets: Would you like to take Joe Johnson and his albatross of a contract?

Grizz: No.

Nets: Ok. Thanks.

Mark Stein: Nets and Grizz discuss trade sending Joe Johnson to the Grizz.

Trading for Johnson would mean our starting 5 accounts for $72M. The luxury tax kicks in at $77M.

That would show that Pera is putting his money where his mouth is, because fielding any sort of a competitive team would mean paying the tax. Our bench would be trash otherwise.

Charlotte has declined to extend a qualifying offer for Bismack Biyombo, making him an unrestricted free agent.

We need to get on that. He would be a perfect (and affordable) Koufos replacement.

After Gasol we can look at it.
