Summer Options

2. Pickup games, unsupervised, no refs
3. Kedren Johnson 2014

I will take BCC, thank you.

LOL...Do you think they STOP playing pickup games because the bluff is not going on...At least at the bluff they get different people who are closer to their abilities.

Side Note, Will Coleman was supposed to be playing in the Bellevue league, anyone see him there?

Such a silly statement.

Congrats for buying into Calipari sponsored groupthink.

You know, Doneal led the NCAA's in points per minute.

Especially when one of the habits is scoring 20-30 points a game.

This is purely anecdotal, but I feel like it became a bigger deal when Pastner took over and the program started to slip. The BCC was just one of many excuses people made for why the Tigers started slow in the preseason tournaments or didn't play well against big boy competition.

Fact is, if Duke's entire team had played in the BCC last year, Duke still would have won the national championship.

Never understood people who put their own interest above the interest of the school. BCC confirmed source of bad habits then AAU is next to go under microscope.

I heard Fuente banned the team from playing NFL 2015 because too many guys tried the spin moves, stiff arms and turbo boost during spring practices.

I think there is a big difference between AAU and the BCC. AAU is systemic, and high-level bball players spend at least half their bball time playing in the AAU circuit. That's a problem if they are picking up bad habits and ignoring fundamentals.

The BCC is a short summer league that is intended to be fun. I don't see any issue with it. It's like the Rucker league. Just a once a year thing. No big deal.

The guys play hundreds(surely in the thousands) of basketball games in their lives not to mention the untold hours of practices and pick up games by the time they matriculate into a college program. 5-10 games at the BCC isnt going to create any habits that they don't already have.

Yeah, the BCC is a good time mixed with high competition. The AAU circuit is more organized and the real life blood of high level amateur basketball in the US, supplanting high school teams as the more important proving ground years ago.

Like most systems, there are both good and bad actors. I would figure there are good and bad AAU coaches and programs. I would venture many AAU coaches work as hard to instill good habits as their college colleagues.

Bummer, the BCC is a real nice thing to get excited about. Really a hug bummer it's not going down this year...

If I was a basketball coach, I'd ban NBA Jam. Balls that are on fire and burn nets are a serious fire hazard.
