The rich have more than enough money to take care of everything. They just need to pay their fair share. Why is that so hard for people to understand.

The solution to the pension problem

Yep...Stealing from those more fortunate seems to be the standard our world is facing going forward. Maybe Marx was born too early?

Maybe.

I just wish our board leftists would embrace it.

Maybe that can be rainbow colored and accomplish multiple symbolism.

Might make it more palatable to some on here. Doesn't change their objective one bit.

Ironic that the two ideologies are merging here IMO. Damn sure would not have in the USSR.

Leave it to the right-wingers to believe that the leftists want to rule the world and cause our economies to collapse. Geez. Dose of reality incoming - no one is saying to get rid of the capitalist system. We're stuck with massive debts left by bad decisions by the prior governments (which have been austerity measure lovers) and now, oh dang, it's the leftists fault. We saw the same thing in the USA under FDR and after Bush's economic collapse when Obama came into power. Better go ahead and burn your worthless dollars now...

Personal foul. Excessive ignorance. That'll be a 15 yard penalty, replay the post.

The "Obama" collapse you mention hit the back end of Bush's term as well. TARP happened under Dubya. That collapse was due ENTIRELY to liberal housing policy exacerbated by the Fed.

The current financial issues hanging from the neck of the US government like a chained sea anchor being carried by a swimmer atop the Marianas Trench are, in order of disasterousness:

1) Medicare [LBJ (D), Dubya ® for Part D]
2) Medicaid [LBJ (D)]
3) Social Security [FDR (D)]
4) War Debt [FDR (D), Truman (D), JFK (D), LBJ (D), Reagan ®, GHWB ®, Clinton (D), Dubya ®, Obama (D)]
5) Empirical Military Philosophy [Woodrow Wilson (D) started it ... largely carried forth since]

I'm no fan of the litany of GOP loser Presidents we've had, but the ONLY Presidents since reconstruction to even make a MODEST attempt to reign in spending, much less ACTUALLY PUT IN PLACE AUSTERITY MEASURES, would be: Coolidge ®, Harding ®, Ike ® ... he doesn't have a cutter's reputation, but he single handedly avoided several international conflicts and wars by throwing his weight around (Suez Canal anyone?) and the expenses for the birth of the Interstate System are more than forgivable... if anything that has economically paid for itself and then some.

It's a big pile of hot garbage outside those three. But team D holds most of the catastrophic Presidencies since Reconstruction: Wilson (D), FDR (D), Truman (D), LBJ (D), Dubya ®, Obama (D)

Embrace the Greek failure leftists. It's the fruit of the PASOK, who gave Greece what many of you want. Same sex marriage, nationalized healthcare, hatred of America, embracing leftist terrorists, and a huge welfare state. Sounds like the democrats to me.

Yea, the fact that Barry has us at a deficit of 18 trillion and growing was all Bush's fault. You libs are the most delusional people to ever walk this earth.

All that means is that you understand that a centrally commanded economy has little chance of working unless you run China's playbook. Instead you'd simply prefer to extract as much money as possible out of the capitalist system in order to bankroll your social experiments. GTS covered everything else in his post.

Those two in bold did not bankrupt Greece, nor anyone in history. Greece in ancient times actually promoted homosexual conduct and they were a powerhouse at that time.

The "huge welfare state" is why Greece went broke. That, and being attached to the Euro which restricts what they can and cannot do in the event of a recession.

Well, I'd like to think the USSR was brought down by a little "hatred for America".

Internal tension ultimately ruined the USSR. Nobody was happy in that utopia.

Pretty sure them spending themselves into oblivion trying to keep up with the West had a lot to do with it as well.
