Of course the UCF/USF fanboys ruined it.

If they add USF and UCF they would get the Tampa Bay and Orlando markets and have a presence in a massive FL market which is now the third largest state in the country. It is also a easy to get to both cities by plane. The Big Twelve would probably love to play games in a state they want to recruit as well. Both schools are huge (both are in the top ten largest in the country) and probably have larger operating budgets than all of the other schools in the Big Twelve except Texas.

Nothing compared to the golden Chicago market though, and it just makes more geographic sense. The missing piece to the puzzle overall

Right now NIU is not ready...that didn't stop me from voting for us though.

In 3 years we could be ready if we the fans put the work in to filling the stands

No doubt NIU is on the fast track to be in great position in 2 to 3 years.

I gots fifty cent, but all that will buy me is a seat next to Temple in the AAC

NIU has done all they can do , they have put themselves in a great spot now, just let the chips fall where they may and sit back.

BUT THE AAC IS STILL THE BIG EAST!!! WE'RE BETTER THAN EVERYONE AND WE HAVE SUCH HISTORIC RIVALRIES LIKE UCONN AND UCF!!! WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT BYU AND CURRENT P5 SCHOOLS IN OUR LEAGUE!!!

I am not even really sure what you are trying to say with the above lol, but I assume its pro-AAC? hah

NIU is in much better position by staying in the MAC, Big 12 or bust and Frazier has his eye on the prize. Even if the Big 12 doesn't work, at least we can all rest easy knowing NIU did everything it can. The thing that will always eat away at me though, what if Compher (and even Phillips for that matter) did his job, where would NIU right now as we speak? grrr

No I'm mocking the mindset of AAC fans who post on the realignment and the AAC forums. They have a really bad "holier than thou" attitude and act like they're still in a power conference

Oh well I don't think anyone is taking them seriously because that conference is turning into a joke mighty fast.

NIU absolutely needs to get into the AAC asap if we want a chance in the B12 in 5-10 years. the MAC platform isnt strong enough for the jump.

I just cannot tell you how big of a mistake that would be, it would put NIU much closer to playing Illinois St every year for homecoming as an independent than it would to the Big 12. I think Frazier understands this. No need for a lateral at this point, stay the course, don't flinch.

See that's where we differ as well haha. I agree with the whole "shoot for the moon" philosophy, but I'd rather be shooting with a high powered rifle (AAC) than a slingshot (MAC)

Frazier understands the AAC is the destination, hence the Master Facilities Plan.

Need to go to high school before college. The MAC is junior high.

Ya but there is a chance we can skip a few grades if our alums wake up and support athletics and the university. Admittingly though it's a small chance.

We wouldnt be independent wed be in the AAC playin UCF/ECU/Cinci/Houston on homecoming instead of EMU/Kent State/CMU. I'll take the AAC lineup anyday.

The wake up call is changing conferences to the AAC. If they didnt wake up for the Ob or Heisman run, they aint wakin up...
