For some humor, read the right side of the BEER MENU for the Red Dirt Restaurant in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

I hate IPAs. I'm more of a Pilsner guy myself. I'm a beginner amateur brewer.

Do they have relatives at Pabst? That stuff is really pretty nasty.
I guess that's why they can't move it to the right, but it doesn't belong with the stuff on the left.

Same here.

I think it's funny to watch friends of mine try to choke down a really horrible IPA because the waitress at our local brew pub said it was good while I enjoy a good Pluff Mud Porter in the winter or one of the many German wheats this time of year.

I like trying new beers and I have tried as hard as I could to enjoy IPAs but to me beer should be enjoyed, not endured.

PBR out of a bottle is tolerable. It isn't my favorite but I can handle it that way.

The only good you can get out of a can of PBR is to use it to make hush puppies.

I don't know.

Budweiser or Lite?
Craft or Draft?
Corona or Dos Equis?

While I may prefer one type over another, I'll lovingly accept them all.

Surprising as it may be to some on here, I love beers. Newcastle Brown Ale is one of my favorites. Apple Orchard on a summer evening. Ahh...

RE: Beer
Many a days I spent drinking $1 pitchers of Natty Lite at Beat the Clock on Fridays and Saturdays at Miami. Good times, but thank god I'm past those days. No one should have to endure drinking (much less pay for) that cat pi$$ unless you've already downed a few trash cans and can't tell the difference anymore.

I prefer liquor myself, get me some good whiskey and I'm set.

RE: Beer
Being a long time beer lover and home brewer....There is almost no beer I dislike. Each has its place for certain situations. Hell...I fully admit I like a Coors lite when I am playing golf in the summer. I would not think about drinking a Guinness when it is 90 degrees outside.

Right now I am going through some Highland Brewing...Gaelic Ale(Asheville, NC) Wonderfully sweet and moderately hoppy. All of their offerings are yummy.

Todays craft industry is very much like the wine industry. Each offering has its own distinctive character. It is the vast array of flavors and alc % that make todays brews worth exploring. There is something for just about any taste out there if you are willing to look.

I was in Pinehurst last weekend and had a Delurium Nocturum at a bar. It is supposed to be one of the worlds best micro brews. It is.

I'll drink liquor but I don't touch beer. I don't have the patience to go through the "acquiring" of tastes. Hell, I'm just starting to like vegetables.

Kit or your own recipe?

I have done both. I like to start with a basic kit...say Amber Wheat...and then customize it myself. I just brewed a light wheat with magnolia petals. Smelled wonderful during the wort. Have another week left of carbonation. I bought a mini keg dispenser and filled one keg up from this batch. Can't wait to try it out.
